• Hammer creating random brushes.

ive been working on a map recently and around this curve i created, hammer keeps making random geometry. its not in the editor but only in the compiled map. it has no collision like its part of the skybox, but i haven't created a skybox yet.
Just a tip, once a map is compiled the brushes don't exist anymore, they're purely tools instructing the BSP part of the compiler where to place faces and the VIS compiler where to create the leafs. That "rogue solid" thing is probably a micro brush or some invalid solid. Use alt+p to find it or have a look in your compile log for errors. Invalid solids are usually concave/complex shapes. Microbrushes are brushes with an edge less than 1 unit. If it doesnt show up in either of those you might be able to find a textured face of your "rogue solid" and see where it came from. Sometimes you have neither invalid solid nor microbrush but the compiler still does crazy stuff, in such scenarios its best to delete the brush creating the shape and recreate it.
thanks. the thing is i deleted all brushes to see if it remained. and sure enough it did. i just moved to whole map out of the way and that worked. the error log was empty. but moving the map worked so il see if the micro brush is still there. thanks again
