https://blogs.unity3d.com/2018/01/10/get-early-access-to-unity-2018-1-the-beta-is-out/ I never bothered to learn shaders or pay out my ass for an asset, so this is a welcome sight.
Time to test xD
Yeah, I put 2018 on my workstation to try this out but got caught up with enlighten issues - is it currently tied to a project or sample? I didn't see it anywhere at first glance.
I had a nightmare with the HD render pipeline and turns out it doesn't render terrains unless you use a custom shader, then you have the issue of texturing without splatmap.
I've had trouble moving my project to both HD and LW pipelines and really I don't get any benefit from either, I'm in this awkward middleground of a pc focused game that needs decent lighting and shading but doesn't benefit from anything in the HDRP - have Unity said if they plan to bring shadergraph to just, normal, current Unity rendering/shaders? cause I could still use shadergraph but really don't have a need for the SRPs
I'm excited for this. I've only dipped my feet into any material/shader creation, but I've been loving it. Made the displaced snow in this last fall for my modelling class using Shader Forge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBkQwMorEXA
