I wrote into FP and got a response. They said the error is primarily caused by EAC and to post to the steam forum. I've posted here Rust not starting after load screen. Hopefully this is the issue and they have something for me that will help. Feel free to join in on the steam forum and grab their attention.
delete maps in bundle and redownload it from steam. it worked for me
Thank you for the suggestion. But it didn't work. Still haven't gotten a response from EAC yet. This is such an odd bug.
