The rust devs literally need to fucking stop with there shitty attempt at making the game better and just MAKE the night time actually fucking playable. THe game was fine before when we were actually able to see in 2016-. This is literally ridiculous how now that night time hits all you have to rely on is hitting lucky and random fucking shots. #FIXFUCKINGNIGHT
While I've been gnawed on by wolves, I just don't agree. Many people wanted realistic night, it adds to the atmosphere. They added flashlights, which are basically all you need to deal with night-time, and you can also blind your enemies. After all, night is made to be scary and used by the people that like to play like assassins.
HOW THE FUCK U WANT ME TO PLAY ASSASSIN WITH A BOW AND NO VISION
You don't use a bow during night. At night I equip no gear, 5 bandages and 3 wooden spears. You sit at a spot that is pitch black so your shape isn't revealed in any way and wait. You wait for someone running, using a flashlight or a torch. Now sneak up on them and... why am I revealing my tactics to you?
Still i cant see
I'm not interested in the "Realism" argument, because Rust does not have anywhere near realistic lighting at night. In a place with virtually zero light pollution, nights are far, far brighter than the black, oil-tar that Rust currently has. It has absolutely no basis on Realism. I've spent weeks camping in northern Canada, and almost every night, even cloudy ones, was bright enough for me to see individual rocks, easily. If you say its "Realistic", then your opinion is invalid, and you're a shill. Plain and simple. Its their choice if they'd like to keep it that way, but for the sake of arguments, don't act like an idiotic child. Nights aren't that dark in any way.
Thought they did it to prevent gamma tweaking kidd0s? While I hate the night too cause u can't do shit at all it should be fair now.
Oh? I guess nights are different where you live, because without any light pollution I've had nights where I couldn't see anything but the sky, especially when in an area with some trees. The moonlights often does next to nothing to illuminate the ground unless its a full moon.
a) northerrn hemisphere can be differnet (they have more illumination, especially if there is snow around - Canada?) and sometimes have days that last like 2 weeks straight (the further north you go), so the lighting there is different. b) was it full moon, or not? c) trees and other things make it much more difficult... evver been camping at night in pitch black? Can't se shit sometimes, unless again - there is a moon. I've camped/hunted in US and Russia and some nights can be very very dark, especially in the woods. (given that there is no snow. Snow makes a HUUGE difference)
I would hate to camp out in the snow, but I've spent two weeks in northern Saskatchewan and there's no such thing as the inky blackness. Yes, it can certainly GET dark, it is nighttime after all, but Rust has bright skies and ink black ground/trees/etc. The lighting system is an abomination, and I can understand you wishing to defend your lord Garry, but criticism is important in development. There's always a moon and stars, and even overcast means dark, -NOT- black.
And get the gammacheaters back? Fuck you. Night is good now as it is. I go out regardless of illumination, if I have to use a flashlight, its only a quick flash. why dont you do the same? Fear of the dark?
yes mainly this was done (the black "inky" contrast as you call it) to stop gamma hackers. No point to argue otherwise or against it. Night looks unrealistic to you? Fuck that. It prevents gamma hackers? Good. We as the community like it to prevent gamme hackers? yes. Do we care about some player's complaints about night not being "realistic"? we don't give a F... /thread
GAMMA HACKERS ARE YOU SERIOUS??? YOUR CALLING PEOPLE WHO USE GAMMA WHICH EVERYONE HAS ACCESS TO HACKERS?? ARE FUCKING RETARDED?
cheaters, hackers, w/e. they played unfair, and I assume you're one of them. Be glad they never made it bannable. now go cry us a river you little snowflake. Pitch black is here to stay.
I agree that night time is still too bright.
Honestly, I don't mind how dark it is, I adapted and got over it. Just spend the nights inside organizing chests, planning for the day and cooking metal.

It's bright AF, they should make it darker!
