Okay, so you should be able to log in via Steam now. You should also be able to associate multiple accounts, so you can have an alternative way to log in. I added github login a while back too and didn't mention it.

I've used Google to login for a while now I don't find any reason to switch...
Haven't tried it in case it is irreversible, but is it possible to un-associate an account?
Not yet, plan to make it so you can remove them, and removing the last one will "delete" your account.
Does the github auth only log the primary account email?

Fairly certain emails are completely out of the picture here. You log in with whatever credentials you use for Github, and you authorize that ACCOUNT to be usable as 1 button log in for fp or any other oauth websites.
Right, but it still emails you notifications. IIRC by default the oAuth scope for Github only gives the default email.
Why does it have it in scope though?

@garry any update on being able to remove an auth method? I just had to change primary emails, and I'm using my old one to login here.

Pardon my lack of understanding - if I've created this account using Google authentication, can I remove the Google authentication and switch to Steam authentication without losing anything?
If you head to the account page, you can just add the steam account.
If you were able to remove anything yet, removing Google before addign again would just remove your account, since removing your only login option would do that. Adding a link before closing prevents this.
