Heyha,
I don't get this, do you think clans should be weaker than groups of 2-3 players? As long as a clan is not half of the maximum server capacity I don't get what your problem is. Hate me for that, but that's just the way it is and it's good it's this way. More people equals more manpower equals more guns equals more people that can shoot you in the head. If you decide to play rust on your own that is totally okay, but if I want to play rust with 8 of my friends why should I get punished for that? It is obvious that 9 players are 9 times as strong as 1 player and that will always be the case if facepunch won't nerf groups to death, which I really hope won't be the case because rust is fun the way it is. It's fine for me that a larger groups needs more stuff to maintain a base and that is fine but don't kill the game for groups. You can't expect to be stronger than a group of 9 people only because you like it to play on your own. If you have good arguments I will read them, if you just want to hate on me because I prefer to play in clans, that is also fine but I won't response to that because that is a waste of time.
Thank you.
I imagine it partially stems from them seeing how a group splitting gathering and crafting duties results in being geared faster than doing everything themselves. People having bad experiences where they think they have the edge on a person when their group was near and now they have more to deal with is another factor.
As a primarily solo player myself it may surprise you that I do not have a negative view on clans/groups and agree with you. It's feasible to survive solo against groups. You just gotta be smarter. Unfortunately a good portion of the Rust community is "equal" in that regard, which may explain the trouble and how I thrive.
I bet so many solos/duos who cry about clans are those small groups who build next to launch site and then cry if the clans are always nearby.
No shit
I'm one of the guys thats posting a lot about big groups and clans, but overall I'm not against playing with friends.
The thing is, after running servers for 3-4 years, I see a lot of players running into big groups. New players that play solo, or with max 1 or 2 friends. They can not do anything against a group of 10-20 with ak's. This leads towards players leaving the server, and "empty servers".
Everyone that plays this game likes to have a chance, everyone likes to build, and shoot. Nobody likes to buy a game to get killed over and over again in the first hours they play the game.
As a group of lets say 1-5 players, you can not stand against a group larger than 5 players. Most players do not have the 4200 hours of experience I have, and even if I would play with 3 mates that has almost the same experience, 3 vs 20 is impossible.
I understand that big groups can be fun, and I understand that not all big groups are killing on sight and raiding all the time. But try to see it from another perspective:
There are too many groups F'in it up, and you have to imagine how that would feel for the guys/girls that plays against them, but just want to get their ideas done in rust.
