A huge problem I've always had with building in Rust.

Like any sane, non-clan player, I start out with a small base and build larger. That's pretty much the go-to, and I never usually build extremely huge, but lately I've been playing for 2-4 week wipe cycles, and I've come to the conclusion that keeping your base safe from offline raiders is the hardest fucking thing.
Doors are always the weak entry point. Don't have enough, and that's a golden key into your base. Have a fucking million, and suddenly people decide to go through your walls. Now, to compensate, maybe you can build a second layer of walls. But, suddenly, doors are the weak point again; so you need more doors. Then you need more walls. Now, I've lived ENTIRE wipe cycles in a fucking 1x3 and never been raided, but sometimes its nice to have more than 4 chests of room and some breathing space, but as a solo player, maintaining that can be hard. With the upkeep system (I like the upkeep system, fyi, I like it a LOT), this means the more protection you have, the more expensive it is. I can try and compensate with shotgun traps, auto turrets or etc, but in the end they're not all that difficult to destroy, and can get in the way.
So, as time goes on, you HAVE to build a fatter and larger base, but that means higher costs, which means you have to constantly play more, and fight for more raw resources. Slack on it, and suddenly you're going to get obliterated easily. It used to be that people would make bases too big to be worth raiding, but now with upkeep, that can't be done, and so raiding is actually quite a bit easier.
If you don't get an Armored Door, then you're pretty much fucked, because sheet metal doors are a joke and there's nothing better. (Don't say Garage doors, those are only 1 satchel more than a sheet door for a lot higher cost (in my opinion)).
I feel that the system should have more doors to match the strength of walls, and maybe more convenience. Opening and closing 6-10+ doors just o leave your base is irritating and slow. I don't find that fun.
I do agree with this post, and I also enjoy Building 3.0 and the upkeep system. I think there should definitely be a new tier of single/double doors. Make armored doors a little stronger and throw in a new set of doors to compensate between the differences of Sheet metal and Armored doors.
well yes. HQ doors are not enough for full-fledged survival) this complicates
One of my older ideas was that if you made a DOOR FRAME out of Armored, it would double the life of any door in it. So, for single door frames, as example:
Wood (why would you use wood?) goes from 200 to 400HP.
SHEET goes from 250 to 500HP (Same health as a Stone Wall)
ARMORED goes from 800 to 1600 (More than a SHEET wall, but less than the ARMORED wall).
This means that you can effectively "reinforce" a door at extra cost. I feel like this would help a *lot*. Plus, more doors.
Based on logic, there is always a weakpoint
