I've tried to contact Thomas Butters but I can only find him at https://fgsltw.artstation.com/projects/vmeG6 and don't want to have to sign up for that. There are a "few" differences in the model but the design is far too similar.
Looks shockingly similar. Interesting.
@garry @Alistair
the double barrel was released into rust somewhere around august 6th 2016. When was this model created?
"Thomas Butters 3D Artist at Facepunch Studios" lulz
According to Kill 'Em All 2018-01-19. So a week ago. Hence why I think they may have copied the rust double barrel.
OH.. lol I thought you were saying that Rust copied them. I'm dumb. That's definitely a direct copy from Rust.
as long we don't hear bad news, it's fine I asume. That it's almost the same model as rust does not say they took it without permission. Not all game-devs are bitches against each other. For example if I was a game dev, and one of my personel also did another game, and they ask for 1 model to get started, I would not make a deal of it if it's a game that does not even come close to the gameplay and looks of my game.
Look up copyright statues that pertains to digital 3d models... Sure it looks like it, and was prob modeled from it...still doesn't matter one bit.
It's not a model that's being used in a game, it's model being sold to other people to be used in art.
