This is just my 2 cents on what could be done to finish off the last issues that prevents rust from leaving early access. Not expecting a reply from a dev, I just hope that if they havent though about this already, they might do something similar, because in my head, what Im about to write will work.

Tutorial server
This, I have not seen discussed before. Rust is not just hard to get into, one of its major aspects which is PVP, is pretty damn hard as well to just get into from hour 0.
And here is where a tutorial server comes into play. Strictly PVE, with lots of hints and helpful things. Lets say you're instructed to gather resources and build a house (2x2), once you're done, a giftbox spawns inside containing materials and tons of scrap, with additional hints on where to get the materials. And when I say strictly PVE, I mean that any kind of damage from griefers will be null and void. Playerdamage zero. This should apply to buildingdamage as well (except from upkeep).
It will provide a safe environment to just try some shit out and learn the game, combined with some pre-recorded hints of how it is in real rust (players kosing you, doorcamping you, raiding you, etc).
Let this be a mandatory server you have to play before getting access to the other servers. Alternatively make it a clientbased tutorial, with no multiplayer (or just LAN where friends can hop on and do shit with you).
Not worth 19.99 much less 40. LOL

I actually think this game is crying out for some kind of single player mode where you can learn the basics, experiment with stuff and just generally have a more relaxing time.
Yeah, I mean there are community servers where you can try out shit, like intoxicated creative, but as a newb, chances are you're not gonna find those servers when you've just bought the game.
You're not completely right about this but I get your point. If you want that though, just go to community servers click on "players" filter twice, it will now list out empty servers... Enjoy! The reason why you aren't completely right is because it's mainly a PvP game (for now and probably forever) so you need to experience trial and error sooner or later.

THE Tutorial server dosent seem like a bad idea couple years back when i picked up unturned in its alpha it had a tutorial server which showed everyone basics of the game so i couldnt see this as a bad update for rust before leaving early accses

Not everyone has the specs for that, nor the knowledge or experience in playing around with consolecommands. They propably cant even imagine to look for that kind of info either.
The completely fresh will need someone to hold their hand, and a singleplayer local map made by facepunch can do that for them.
