It isn't graphically optimized, the build system is shit. I mean who thought pillars in the center of a foundation was a good idea? The AI has down syndrome. The map looks like the idea of a kindergartner on meth. Your reviews recently on steam are fucking stellar btw. LOL HAHAHAHAHA
To be honest, I never got my friends to play Rust because they were turned down by the 20$ price given the bad game performance, so I kinda agree with the post. I hope people continue to buy it at the new price. They do also have skins to sustain their income, so there's that.
At about a thousand hours, I'd say it was worth the $20 I spent. I'm not a fan of ass-kissing brown nosers, but even $40 isn't an incredibly steep price. However, if Facepunch plans to spread Rust to other platforms, they really have to step up their game and add more content to the game. Because right now, Rust only appeals to the niche that enjoys it, there's nothing to do but grind, pvp and raid. If that's fun for you (Like it is for me), that's awesome, but I feel people (see: normies) may complain about the lack of...Things in the game.
Also, if they're hiking up the price, give us more skins, you absolute jewvolords. I get a blue beenie every 50-100 hours or something. Hell, just make it so they can't be sold on the marketplace if you drop a Skin and don't go to your steam inventory, and boost Skin drop rates for that. Give us a reason to scrap unwanted skins and craft the barrels/skin-giving pack items. Stop being so greedy!
As Garry's post said, this was always the deal. Don't know why everyone is getting upset. Remember that ARK went from £20 to £60.
Think of the positives, cheaters will think twice they risk having to sink another £40 into the game.
they should up Rust to $50 and control all sales very very closely (reduce frequency of sales) - so that cheaters get fucked once they get their bans...
captainrussia: WE SHOULD MAKE THE GAME MORE WELCOMING TO NEW PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
also captainrussia: The price is not enough, the game needs to be more expensive.
"The AI has down syndrome. The map looks like the idea of a kindergartner on meth"
If I made a game and every kid playing it reacts like you, like your a 8yo on meth, I would also fit the game more and more to the players playing it ;)
Garry could charge 60 bucks if it was a finished game, but the fact of the matter is that it is still in Alpha and won't be finished ever.
I don't see anything wrong with an increase of price, it will certainly hit the cheaters wallets which can only be a good thing for the game.
This game isn't worth that price for now, but out of MOST early access games I can say that slowly but steady this game is going in a right direction. Don't give Rust shit (that even costed 5$ at some points) before you tried other early access games, I bet you're one of the morons who bought DayZ standalone. Those cripples made over 20mil$+ and the game is completely abandoned at this point, even if it isn't it will NEVER reach Rust in progress of development.
You're on a forum, not a chat room. Talk with some dignity if you want to be taken seriously.
The game's performance is excellent, and if your PC can not run it on normal conditions, then use the potato option, which is extra for potatoes.
You can play the game on good graphics with the gtx 1050
With the gtx 1060 6GB all settings on max and all effects.
And if you dont like Rust, then just try H1Z1 maybe you love hackers
AMD RX480
AMD A8 6600k APU
8gb ram
Running like a charm, and still some money left!
I get 120 fps, but I also get random stutters that can't be resolved, especially during battle it freezes for a second or two.
thats weird, because on my cheap system I get at least 60 fps @ realy big structures, and no freezes at all. High point is 120fps
That is not the problem of game developers but of the owners of the server in which you play
Im running gtx960 4g all settings on high not extreme, at least 60fps all day long. JS
Most times when they talk about the fps, they mean fps in client when they run on empty part of map.
Fps drops in server / battle has nothing to do with server.
Most times, having a gtx1050 or 1060 does not guarantee good performance. This because the communication between some of your system parts can be bad, what causes instability. "But other games I play max settings and higher fps" is a verry stupid statement in this, because every game is using your system parts in a different way.
I've got over 400 hours of gameplay out of Rust. Even if I had paid the upcoming $34.99 instead of $20.00 I think I'd still feel pretty good about the per-hour cost investment I've made for my entertainment.
Granted, I'm old enough to remember paying $40 for getting 60 hours out of a new Final Fantasy game way back in the day, so my mileage might vary from the experiences of younger gamers that grew up with cheaper mobile games and the Free-to-Play market.
I think there was actually a YouTube video posted in the last day or so from the folks over at Extra Credits that actually touches upon the subject of how much games should cost and what developers have to deal with in terms of the costs they incur in developing and then later supporting games, and why the costs of video games have remained lower than what inflation would normally have dictated. Might be worth a watch if there are folks seriously interested in this subject.

Until it has decent performance the price should stay on 20. i have a fucking 1080 and do 80 fps with shit graphics
hahaha, and why don't you post your RAM, MOBO and CPU ??
Bet this bottlenecks your 1080 and thats the reason you complain about 80 fps.
And bad performance?? I'm having a great laughter right now lol, because your GPU only costs almost the same as my pc, and I'm running highest graphics with 60-120 fps, on ALL AMD !
amd a8 6600k
amd rx480
asus A55bm-e
8gb RAM
Your gpu only should beat my system easaly, but somehow it performs worse, and your blaming rust for it lol
Not sure if the OP is aware but prior to being on Steam access to Rust was sold via a Dutch Auction. They put around 50 or so keys up a day starting at like $80 each, with the price going down every hour as long as there were still keys in stock for the day. They typically sold out at around $50. And that was when Rust was much less feature complete.
And your point is you agree with me. Not worth
The point is that people have actually paid more for less game. I am only pointing this fact out. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and you see less than pleased.
Hmmm.. i have about 100 fps but it often drops down to like 50 or even 40 fps
GeFroce GTX 1080 Strix
i5-7600k
16 GB RAM
ASUS H170pro
500 GB SSD
i think it's kinda strange
Piper, how come every post I see you make is an extremely negative one? I don't think the issue is with Facepunch or the game. I think it's because you feel entitled and are a really negative person. Once again, I'm telling you I have 4.2k hours in Rust, and every single penny was worth all of those hours. I've been around for the ups and the downs and I am happy I was a part of all of that.
The developers have flip flopped between different systems, so I can empathize with them on the delay of coming out of early access. However, Facepunch is one of the most active game developers I have ever seen. You get an update once a week, EVERY week. Try playing DayZ Standalone and going two years without an update, then come talk to me about Facepunch.
If you don't like the game that much, then go play another game. In the end, it's JUST a game. Why you have to be mad?
I think drops are not strange at all on your set-up, I'm sorry to say:
one of the best gpu's
good Ram
good mobo
AVERAGE CPU
Most likely your cpu is not powerfull enough to get the max of your gpu.
Most likely there is also a feature with the Nvidia drivers that wont like parts of shaders in rust.
I recommend checking your software first, and look what people with I5 and 1050 says in the threads. These peeps where not able to run rust at al, untill they removed a feature of nvidia that was F'in up.
There is also a possibility that there is something wrong with the nvidia update, because when you see the "help me" section, almost everyone with problems are using NVIDIA, so it can be that your problems will be solved once they launch a new driver update.
Last part, but in my eyes the biggest problem here, is your cpu. It's not bad, not at all, but when you using a realy powerfull GPU, RAM and mobo, on an average cpu. I think in this case, if all drivers are up to date, your cpu does not have enough power to get the max out of your gpu.
If I would replace my AMD machine, I would also buy 1080ti, with I7 or even new I9, because only then, I know for sure the system will not have any bottleneck, and it will be stable.
This is the only reason I'm stuck to my amd machine, because I dont have €2000 for a new one
Thanks for the Information. I kinda thought i5 would be enough for gaming, at least thats what they said.
Thats probably also the reason why PUBG has quite a few frame drops.
Im also looking forward to upgrade my pc. I kinda want a 1080ti and a better cpu as you said.
yeah don't get me wron, I5 is good for gaming, but more if you have a little less budget, not if you use a gtx1080. Your cpu is not powerfull enough to get max performance out of your gpu. When choosing one of the top-line gpu's, you also have to look to one of the better cpu's, unless you take the "unstability" for granted, because to be honest, I used to play rust onboard, and 30fps is playable as long it wont freeze. Offcourse this only apply's if you never had something better xD
I should first look to the cpu before you change 1080 to TI, think cpu will already fix a lot.
