Could you guys please buff the LR? I mean that gun is uncraftable and you only can find them in airdrops and stuff. Plus in real life the LR is way stronger than the AK. And could you nerf the AK as well so that the LR will be more used and valuable? And that the game would make more sense? But keep the recoil of the AK.

762x39 is one of the strongest rounds fired from a rifle, which is Ak and it's variants. LR is based off an AR/m4 style rifle, which fires 5.56. (or .308 and other uncommon calibers that ar models had now.)
7.62 definitely has more over all power irl. The 5.56 only has more penetration, due to shape and size.
In Rust the Ak-47 still fires 5.56 ammunition. Unless you meant they made it more powerful because the Ak-47 should in all reality be firing 7.62?
dude the ammunition does not really matter nor means firepower, its mostly the weapon, if you compare varieties of weapons with the same ammuntion they have completely different results plus your statment is false the 7.62 is the old brother of 5.56, the 7.62 was made in the 1940's and the 5.62 was made way after that and i know that age doesn't matter but the 5.56 has more velocity then the 7.62. And what is really stupid is that the ak uses 5.56 in rust so yeah. And if you compare those two guns in real life there is completely no comparison with the both of them. from recoil, firepower, range you name it.
Regarding 5.56 vs. 7.62, they are both fine rounds, and comparing the AK-47 (a common 7.62mm rifle) to the M16 (a common 5.56mm rifle), you find that the AK delivers a larger diameter bullet at about 1450 FPE vs. the M16 which delivers it's smaller load with about 1300 FPE. You don't want to get hit with either, but the AK is going to blow a bigger hole out the back of your head.
OTOH, if you really need to hit someone in the eye-socket, you probably would be better off with the M16. With the right rounds and practice, you'll be able to keep your groups down to about 2 inches vs. 4 inches at 100 meters. But this is probably more to do with the length of barrel and construction of the weapon than the rounds used.
Newness of weapon designs has little to do with quality. The design of the AK is good. The problem is that there are different makers, and many of them are not focused on producing masterpieces. The quality of an American-made M16 is very good and consistent. The quality of Soviet AK-47s is variable, depending on who made them and when.

And yes, I was referring to AK in real life, not the game. I know its 5.56 in game. There are also Ak variants that fire 5.56 in real life, but I wouldn't consider them authentic AK-47s.
I own an SKS (Practically a longer barreled AK, which fires 7.62) I've also fired a few different Aks, along with a handful of AR's. I've observed the difference in damage that both rounds do and the AK does indeed punch bigger holes. The accuracy just doesn't hold up at long ranges as well as 5.56.
On top of that, get a little dirt in your AR and you're screwed. Chances are it isn't going to operate anymore. Drop your Ak in the mud, you can pick it up and keep firing.
Anyways, back to the game. I think both the guns in game are fine, what I think they need ro do is add a couple more guns to end-game tier so that not everyone has to choose the one of two end game guns to use. Just my opinion there

Here how it should be, I am a gun owner and enthusiast and the LR is an AR-15 which shoots .223 / 5.56 Nato rounds that push 3000-3400 fps!
The AK shouts 7.62 nato rounds averaging in the 2200-2500 fps range with a larger projectile.
The LR-300 should have the higher range and better accuracy, its bullet is much smaller and far faster in muzzle velocity!
The AK should hit harder but have a much shorter range, and a higher recoil.
So in conclusion
AK short medium range, high damage 50-60 mid range accuracy, high recoil
LR-300 short to Long range medium damage, very accurate , medium recoil, has a burst setting.
silencer is completely useless in Rust, they put Damage Ruduction on it

Real AK 47 can snipe out to 700 meters, not super accurately...but they use them with scopes or night scopes even.

I underlined some stuff...so at 300m some say they can hit, some say they cannot. "Best marksman" can hit to 800m. A lot of this is conflicting, because many shit grade AKs are made all over the world, Albania, Kosovo, NKorea, etc...
PS. I still think LR in the game Rust is better, as it fires faster, with less recoil...although not sure bout its range (there is HV ammo too)

Some fact checking: The AK-47 was completed in 1947, hence the number in its name (trivia).
A silencer captures gases from the traveling bullet, moving the gas behind the bullet propelling it further - i.e. Speed of bullet increases -> range increases -> firepower increases. Accuracy is pretty related to how long the pipe of a gun is, so since adding a silencer makes the pipe longer -> accuracy increases.
Naturally, If we would make the suppressor realistic ingame, it would be way too OP. So lets just keep it like it is, and blame the poor performance in comparison to reality that its a post apocalyptic world, everything you build is kinda crappy.
All of that is wrong! Silencers decrease muzzle velocity by suppressing the gas. IE: SUPRESSOR!!!!!!

Anyhow, older supp's slowed down bullets, modern ones dont. They increase it. Only slightly, but they do (like 1-3% depending on what gun and ammo used).

I've never said anything about AK shooting further and more accurate then 5.56 M-16, all Im saying that you can shoot AK up to 400-500 and even 800 yards (or meters, however you wanna look at it), contrary to your claims that AK cant hit shit at 100 yards (and that video of some rednecks shooting a cheap imported AK who have no clue what a "real" AK is capable of).

LR definitely has less recoil (which = faster shots on target = more DMG), while AK has more DMG per shot, but its slower firing, due to recoil mostly.
And Im not even looking at the aimcone, I think LR has a much better (smaller) aimcone, so there is almost no bullet spread?
