My game has not been able to start since the new update. I have verified files. reinstalled. restarted my computer. and was prompted to repair easy anti cheat. it still wont open. I get the menu to click play rust the menu disappears and then i get a crash report
I'm able to get to the choices where you can select if it's windowed or not, other than that mine crashes too.. Ever since this new update, they either need to roll back one and revise it, or fix it in the next.
Mine will actually load and start doing it's thing loading lots of files and items and what not (which takes forever). Then the modded server I play on their agree screen comes up I click and try to space bar to wake-up then blam some stupid error comes up. Been very sparattic if I can even play and I must agree I had easier time logging on about 1 to 2 updates ago. Normally my errors are excessive packets loss or eac timed out connection.
If anyone is experiencing this I have found a fix that can potentially work! I have emailed FacePunch support ( you should too if this fix doesn't work ) Go to Steam -> Library -> Right Click On Rust -> Proprieties -> General -> Set launch options... -> add these to your launch options -force-glcore If this still didn't work, I highly suggest contacting FacePunch support, they reply quickly. Thank you Orkel ♥ This will run the game straight into OpenGL instead of DirectX. Here is the reply that Orkel gave me : Hello, Seems to be an issue with Nvidia drivers - the crash is caused by dx11. Try adding the launch option -force-glcore to Rust in the Steam library and see if it makes a difference. It should make Rust run on OpenGL instead of DX11. Doesn't appear to be caused by RAM, the logs show you still have plenty of free RAM left when the crash happens.
