You should be able to see your teammates name through walls like fortnight or some first person shooters, then give a little indicator next to you friends / teammates name so you can tell hes next to you, to it is not confusing if another player comes up with the same armor or clothing. Making it easier to not shoot friendly's or get confused if its him coming up the other side of the hill.
for that, they invented discord, and the "jump-check".
If I go to Syria, and take some american military gear, they will also have a hard time to see if your with them, or just fake it to attack them. The big tactic in this, is that they know where all allies are because they have certain rules and communication.
Just evolve your gameplay if you want to play in groups.
Wrong game...
Rust know no teams or teammates.
dont know how they add the friends mechanism, but they shouldnt be through walls, it should be icons on the mini map
It’s fine the way it is.
I do agree that it is rather frustrating chore to figure out who is who. However, making teammates identify-able would take away the "who is friend or foe" part of Rust.
That being said, I wish there were more ways to tell each other apart. Just by people looking different will help make things easier.
Luckily this is already in the works. I hope more skin options will be available for ALL clothing and weapons. It would make things easier to tell each other apart. I also hope that body tattoos/paint will become a thing.
