I think that on the map there should be a number of icons:
Node spawn areas
Tree spawn areas
Monument
ETC
Maybe a tracker gun that can tag people and have their icons run around the map...
Please comment your thoughts below:
I think more icons that you can place yourself on the map, to make note of certain things, is not a bad idea but it sounds like you're proposing that the map just show you were stuff has spawned, which is a really stupid idea lol. kind of eliminates that whole 'survival' aspect and needing to go out exploring/searching for these things, no?
a tracker gun would be abused so heavily too.
yeah the tracker gun was a bit out there xD
and the resource spawn locations were only on there becuase of the new update which really irritates me... in earlier devblogs it was stated that nodes would spawn around rock formations, but now there is a bunch of rock formations on every hill so i have no idea where the nodes spawn >:(
It could be edited so that players have a bunch of icons which they can drag on the map for like node locations, base locations, etc.
idk its just ideas xD
monuments are already on the map...
everything else would break the survival immersion
sus the edit
I mean...you may just have to explore those rocky areas to find out. Rust is all about exploring...
If you want to "autofollow to the next quest marker" - I'd hate to sound like a cliche, but gb2wow
yeah but you want to know certain areas where you can go to farm, instead of wandering aimlessely around. on hapis its fine becuase the nodes spawn in groups in certain areas i would just like to see the rule they made actually followed..
But see that is exactly what you are supposed to do if you can't understand the basics of simulated survival.
I mean, I hate saying this over and over but it is true. Garry really only put a map in because of those who kept crying that they couldn't get around or they couldn't meet up with a friend. This helped and he budged.
But omg help you if you played Legacy. I HAVE wandered aimlessly for hours only to find out it was one large circle (and no where , where I wanted to be)
