Now I believe all Bans are just fight at this time but if I am ever wrong then here's what I am thinking that is happening. Facepunch has a threshold we're after so many reports it will ban without reason because the system thinks that you are using something undetectable.
now I'm just trying to view both sides here. I have not had this issue yet but if this is the case and it is true then players need to avoid playing the game until that threshold is taken off
A lot of people may disbelieve in this because it is happening to a small percentage of the community at this time. But I have to say that the cheating is getting better the developer or finding more advanced ways to ruin other players gameplay.
This is so far to the point where all it takes is a advance coder to develop a website or make a program that adds a exploit to the report system
In this case rust will become just like Grand Theft Auto where cheaters could join lobbies and spam the report threshold on specific players to Auto ban their accounts.
So if this is accurate by the slightest then everyone is at risk not only by cheaters but by zergs who will abused the report threshold to get rid of people they don't want in the game.
I know this statement is a stretch but if this is true by any circumstance than everyone should take precaution and either not play the game until this is resolved or play only on private servers.

Prob 99.9% of all Bans are justified, the 0.1% get unbanned due to false Ban probably, the cry babies who are on forums everywhere crying I did not do anything, I never cheated and so on.....
Let me tell you a short story, I been Watching (Spectating players) for almost 3.5 years, I record always every movement and so on, I could probably make a Youtube Series of these cheaters.
BUT the funny thing is what I wanted to mention is, when they get Banned - I see their account on forums crying for innocence, so listen up cheaters, you are being watched at some point ;)
Bans are coming from software being used to create a targeting reticle that can be manipulated. IE ASUS gaming monitor where you can change the size or color , or software that runs in the background where you can choose a recticle type of your choosing and place it where you want it. I know 3 people that have bans at this time .. 2 from ASUS monitors , and the other from the software..

That is actually unusual to hear because I have a monitor that draws a Crosshair without software. I don't believe it's the same model you're talking about. But if they are Banning based off of Hardware then I need to make sure that facepunch knows the specs I'm using before something happens like that

Well I am going to take every step I can to prove it's an invalid ban. Thankfully I have not had this happen yet but until this whole thing blows over I do not find myself getting back on Rust

Also, as long as u don't have any software for Macro u should be fine but yeah don't risk it until facepunch or eac makes a statement.

I just got a reply from support ticket and they posted a Blog to me saying that any past accounts that were cheating on will result in all future accounts being banned. This have I ever does not make sense because the blog was posted in April of 2017. And it was only the start of 2018 when cheaters were getting banned but they end up coming back minutes later on another account.
That's a generic ticket.
Whoever got banned didn't receive a reply from "support"

yeah but those macro softwares such as logitech probably is needed to use the mouse properly. if people are autobanned for just having the program open that makes it unfair.
they arent, I have the logitech software open and running with a couple of keys bound to buttons on my mouse, other guys in my clan have the same software, none of us are banned because we havent tried to use the software to negate recoil.
theyre using it to create an unfair advantage the same way AHK scripters do - its not just because the have the software running
I guess just to be on the safe side waiting for the monthly update May provide better information. I'm going to be pretty bummed out if this month's update is total shit
