Is there someone else who hates this blueprint system? Maybe someone likes it, but it is not made for me. I hate it and I want to get rid off it. It just makes this game unplayable. Are you thinking that you would remove it? Or make official servers without blueprints and workbenc?
maybe you don't understand how the game works?
You should probably start by asking a question along the lines of: "Im trying to get BP xyz, but not sure where it drops or whats the best/safest/fastest (pick 1) way to get it?"
I know how to get them etc. But i just hate this system.
like it kind of makes no sense...its like if you said you "hate Rust"...maybe its not for you?
Blueprint system is flexible as you have a choice on how to get them (3 choices actually) via drops, via item (that you research) or via experimentation.
Its not much different then the "experience system" - because it uses game skill/experience (i.e how well you know the game) to facilitate acquisition of said blueprints. You don't have to "farm wood" to get some "LP/XP" ponts to unlock a satchel - you need to know how to best get a satchel. Knowledge = experience
I think the blueprint system is alright. The learned blueprints should be stay after a wipe.. Otherwise, the system would not make sense. Especially as a solo player you are almost a month busy learning a lot of the blueprints on official servers.
its soo hard to solo player
this, indeed
Its impossible for a solo to get blueprints like an armored door what i think would be good is if they would combine the current bp system with the xp system so you can get everything by just playing aswell as researching and that you can craft every component
Eh, the current system is much better than the XP system they tried, and the blueprint system before that, but I definitely wouldn't call it perfect.
I think a big part of what makes the blueprint system feel a lot worse than it actually is are the advanced weapons that end up saturate the map eventually, which is why I play on a server that wipes the map once a week and BPs once a month. It sucks when all you have is a revolver and waterpipe when there are groups of players who are all decked out with ARs and Bolts.
you'd have to trade for it...
trading is too - part of Rust.
I like to play my games on hard
To OP:
Blueprints were around before, then they played around with an XP system, then opened everything with a barrier-of-cost system, then went back to blueprints. FP doesn't mess about, and they wouldn't have come back to blueprints if they hadn't already ruled out other options. I love hearing suggestions for game mechanics though. What would your preferred system be?
IMHO... I like the blueprint system because it promotes interaction between players. When they took it away I missed the experience of reaching to trade BPs, but that is just me. XP system was... weird, I didn't mind the open approach either, but I think BPs are the best system to go with until a better option comes along.
I like the system, especially now that workbench 3 gives the rocket launcher and rockets blueprints.
you could just experiment to get the bps youre looking for mate, grind components, get scrap, experiment in tier 3 workbench
I like BP system, it makes farming have a reward, rather then everyone just gets all BPs like a Modded Server.
Trust me the fun is getting that next Gun, or finding a Satchel Charge, C4, getting that first AK drop! If you play when everyone just starts with all BPs, the game gets boring in 3 days!
I am playing on a Vanilla Server with a Home tp and little bit better loot system only. Its great!
