If you want to discuss something that deserves a thread and doesn't already have a topic, you can generally make your own thread. Certain subforums have higher standards for thread creation, so just look at the first post of other threads in that subforum and try to use those as an example to format yours in a similar manner.
Is CryEngine any good?
Honestly I don't think the CryEngine is popular enough to justify an entire subforum to it. Maybe a thread in programming or WAYWO or something, but not a subforum
It will be as dead as the UE4 subforum Unity rulez
unfortunately, the only thing I can think of when it comes to cryengine nowadays is Star Citizen.
And now they are moving to lumberyard (amazon $$)
