Purchased a Gmod server for my gaming clan and realized I'm in over my head trying to get it setup. Hosting through NFO servers since that's what our other servers are setup on.
Took me a few hours to figure out how to get the prop hunt game mode loaded on to the server and I was able to get the server running it. I found a few maps and got them uploaded to the server and setup the map list through NFO's console but they're missing tons of assets. Is there somewhere I can download a base set of maps and assets for this game mode and install them via FTP? I've found plenty of stuff through Steam Workshop but am totally lost on how that even works.
try mounting CSS and Tf2
Just install them to the server like I did with gmod and the game mode?
yes also make sure that mount.cfg points to the location of the folder named "tf" when mounting tf2 and "cstrike" when mounting CSS.
improper/not mounting CSS and TF2 are a common way to end up with missing assets.
Looked into it and it looks like CSS, TF2, and HL2 are preloaded by my server company. I looked at the mount.cfg file and it appears it's pointing to the correct locations.
I guess the couple maps I tried to install are missing assets from elsewhere or other games. Is there a basic map pack I can download somewhere and transfer over?
