There have been a LOT of complaints about hackers and rule-breakers. I think if this increases that there should be a new process on the EAC client. When launching rust the EAC updates, I think that after this update it should do a quick scan of the computer. This scan should be <5 mins and happen every time rust is launched. Other ideas: Scan when connecting to official severs Scan whenever a USB device is connected If anyone has similar ideas or thoughts on this please comment below!
you know that they already scan your computer now and then? This because it is steam and to be able to fix problems with games, they need all the info, also your hardware info. With that they also scan your pc for programs that has an influence on your game, cheat or not.
Yeah i know, but if rust enforces these scans more regularly, especially on offical severs and when devices are connected then it will reduce the amount of people cheating on severs
It already happens often, a 5-10 minutes wait time will make many players stop playing it, even myself after 4200 hours. Rust already takes long to load, if we also have to wait 5-10 minutes every time because it has to scan, many will leave. The only sollution to fight cheaters is to actualy be there to beat them! Imagine, 10-20 official servers, that had no admin for 3-4 years. You can trust on eac and valve, but everyone knows that if you take down 1 cheat, another 3 comes in place. And with only a detecting computer and nobody else to fear, this will go on forever. Thats why they now searching admins and going to focus more on that part.
true, it could be adapted to a background process that is required when running rust
or bounded to closing rust, and skipping the scan for more than a week (by terminating it somehow in windows so it wont scan) will automaticly ban you for a week so you get forced to let it scan. In that way everyone will be aware of the risks also.
yeah thats what i meant, so it launches when you launch rust and if you close it with rust open it automatically disconnects from rust. But it shouldnt ban you unless you are actually on rust
