Is there a problem between EAC and Logitech software? - Rust

is there is a problem with logitech software, i bought my new logitech mouse, downloaded the software for the g402 hyperion fusion.... i started having problems with my mouse and rust to where i contacted an admin who tried to help me, i ended up sending it back thinking it was broken and got it replaced, around a week later i got banned which was today, i have the conversations recorded and i record gameplay aswell for that matter, i enjoy playing rust and anyone that knows me knows there was never any cheats involved as im still shit at the game lol. after i emailed EAC to rectify this misunderstanding, i was obviously gobsmacked because i have 4k hours and have like £1000 worth of skins which i acquire on a weekly basis, i ended up searching the web for answers what could have caused this ban? .... the only thing i can relate to from what people have been saying about wrongful bans is this logitech software. I dont think any idiotic person would attempt to cheat after spending thousands of pounds on skins and dont have the slightest clue how to even cheat, I'm not that computer oriented sha'll we say. But i'm hoping this issue will get resolved soon, i know they dont give details of the ban but would like to know if i need to get rid of this mouse so this catastrophe doesn't happen again.

If I start using that gun to rob or kill people - then yes, there will be a problem with the police. To your case: Stop trying to "play mental Olympics" and twist concepts around. If you fucking hack or script - you will get banned. I use a Razer mouse (with Razer Synapse software, but all macros/features disabled). I also have a license to carry. I've never had any issues. Nuff said.

the fuck was that ramble about? lol mate i've already stated im not that knowledgeable with computers and the mouse you have rambled alot of shit about is a complete different make and has nothing what so ever to do with my problem, not only are u a troll but u are no help whatsoever, so i suggest if you are not here to help then bugger off. i have also stated i have recorded conversations with admins etc and never knew what a macro even was and i sent the admin screenshots of my software that i downloaded before the problems started ocurring. captain russia is not a troll... what he is saying is that if you didnt use any macros or logitech software for your mouse then you wouldnt get banned just like he has razer synapse but is not banned because he hasnt used it!

i dont use a thing.... doing a simple google search or even searching these forums there has been problems with logitech software, his comments are invalid to me because there is no issues with razor, nothing he said helped me.... if hes not a troll then why is he on here rambling about guns and razor mouse, take a quick look at his posts, seems to jump on alot of posts spouting shit, sounds pretty much like a troll to me

he is saying that if you didnt use the external software then you would not be banned, he says he has the razer software but isnt banned because he did not use it.... hence the reference to the gun, in this example he has a gun and its fine because hes allowed to but if he started using it to kill people he would be imprisoned. He is saying that you had the gun (software) and you used it and therefore you got banned.

The only people "I troll" are cheaters/hackers - because they don't deserve any better. The only way to get banned is to use cheats/macros/scripts. If you used a macro or a script "because you're computer illiterate" - thats on you. Thats like getting a virus because you don't have an antivirus installed because you're illiterate. So you got banned due to your own lack or knowledge (whether that is true or made up, only you shall know), but that is on you. Don't expect to get unbanned.

what makes you think i've cheated? you are arrogant and i would suggest leaving my thread. before you blabber your mouth off as some sort of know it all, do some research and actually look up the problem that i have asked about. but if you are interested i can send you links to reddit where people have been banned due to this software so ppl with this mouse has avoided playing rust unfortunately i read this when i researched information on what could have caused the ban, also if interested i could post the recorded conversations with admins with the pictures of the program, i dont even know how to set up macro's only thing that is useful to me from the program was the programming of DPI. before this mouse i had a razor deathadder, it broke and chose this logitech one because of youtube reviews about it having better technology and cheaper that razors. if u want i can send u my details and we can talk rather than showing off on a topic shouting hacker at everyone without even the slightest of respect of the persons problem

you probably should have started with that in the OP - instead of just proclaiming inoccence without any eveidence thereof. But sure - please post it, I do like a good read. Keep in mind that obviously you cannot trust everything written on the internet, and there are actual "trolls" out there who can/will create fake threads/sites/blogs to spread misinformation in order to create hype on a specific subject (like to discredit EAC with "presumed" false bans around Logitech software). Im not saying one or the other is true/false... but just keep that in mind. On the other hand FP/EAC has been doing a good job banning alot of cheaters lately (if you read the forums) and you can see how they are trying to get "creative" with their "IM innocent!!!111" excuses. So keep that in mind as well.

keep this is mind along with your accusations.... its only the 1(ONE) gaming software people are reporting the problems with, are you honestly that narrow minded to suggest everyone with a logitech mouse on facepunch, reddit, youtube is making logitech an excuse for hacking? i myself cant stand hackers, ive seen alot of excuses but when you have a bunch of people with the same software and same problems then something is a drift. take a step back from the accusations, have a little respect and think that alot of people with the same problem with the same software might just not be hacking.

you will have a long read with the links, first of all click on forum, goto the search and type logitech ... and yeah thats just these forums, pages long! when a question is put to you your answer is "you'd be suprised what people go through to cheat" and im not interested what people go through to cheat, im not a kid... i believe i was banned for no reason if i knew i did something wrong i would not be on here wasting my time looking for advice and chatting shit to you who is no help at all, why would i have spent thousands of pounds on skins i would simply go buy another copy. c'mon, common sense must prevail here

I have no doubt that EAC is not perfect and that it does indeed falsely ban people occasionally but I'm pretty torn on this whole logitech excuse. I've seen a few people on here say they use the same software without any issue. The problem is what people use the program for, not the program itself. One small little inconsequential thing I don't understand about your story though... You were having troubles with your mouse and contacted the... admin? Of the server?!

yes, my problems started when i first bought the mouse, it would randomly cut off for example if i was shooting an ak it would stop after like 2/3 shots even though i was holding the mouse button, i hopped onto the discord and asked anyone with authority if they could help me, i spoke to an admin who then said the owner may be able to help... i sent the owner screenshots of the mouse and the software i was running. i ended up getting salty because it would get me killed alot and sent the thing back after a long conversation with logitech where i sent them evidence of the problems from there they thanked me for the evidence and said not to bother sending it back they will send me out a new one. i've never had any problems before i got this mouse, i'm not on here to convince anyone but just for some advice from the community would have been appreciated. i'm not interested in hacking/cheating/macro's .... hate it and dont see the point in it, i've obviously invested too much time and money into the game and detest hackers. but as i have said i record everything, so i have no problem in sending them any footage thats required

Eh, I'm not sure how much helpful advice you'll get here tbh. Most people will assume that you were caught cheating and I can't say I blame them. The sheer amount of bullshit that gets posted on here by people who obviously got caught cheating and are now remorseful is ridiculous. If someone is willing to hack/cheat at a video game then they're more than likely willing to lie about it as well. Both are forms of dishonesty. "facepunch plz, my dog jumped up on my keyboard while playing Rust and I was banned! help! unban!!" If you were wrongly banned then I am genuinely sympathetic, like I said I don't think EAC is perfect, but tbh I find your story to be just as fishy as all the other logitech stories that got posted on here when the ban wave for scripters went out.

I'm not saying that you are cheaters, but you are using operating systems, and operating systems can be used to run lots of useful legit programs but you can also use them to run cheats, so I'm going to preemptively ban you just in case. I also want to ban you from my giveaways on SteamGifts because you use browsers, and browsers can be used to create multiple email accounts, which can then be used to create multiple Steam accounts, which you could then use to enter the same giveaway multiple times, which can get you banned on that site. I'm not saying that you do that, but I'm gonna preemptively ban you just in case. I'm sure you'll understand.

Usually no, unless folks misuse the software/scripts. As I understand it, EAC is able to detect when users improperly use scripts for cheating. There have been a few rare occasions when EAC have sent out erroneous bans, but in those instances, the bans have been reversed. I'm not going to comment on your particular situation and whether or not the ban you received was deserved. If you sincerely wish to dispute the ban, you will have to contact EAC. Ban appeals have to be submitted to them, not Facepunch. To the best of my knowledge, all ban appeals submitted to EAC are reviewed, but I'm not aware that they're gauranteed to receive a response.

I got banned 3 days ago and Razer does not have the same problem as Logitech because all the bans I see are LG and I myself have LG g502 and never had macros or scripts. I only had the default volume button changer and DPI button changer. EAC has a problem right now with their macros bans for sure and they need to fix it.

You look at the forums, do you think cheaters would write that they are not cheaters?If you look at the situation on the forum, you can see that almost all the false prohibitions people get for logitech software which not use.

I have a logitech mouse and keyboard. I don't use any of the macro functions to play Rust. I've had the game over a week now and haven't had any issues at all.

I don't see any "false prohibitions" on the forums. Especially linked with Logitech. You are full of shit. I do see a bunch of hackers creating false/fake information to make it look like there is something wrong with Logitech, to try and get away and try to trick the system.

To begin with, learn to talk with people, and then write on the forums your pathetic opinion. People write that they are banned erroneously. Or are you blind?

People have been using the excuse of "false positive" ban since Rust launched on Steam and initially used just VAC. I don't know if the backlog of the Rust section goes back to 2014 but there were multiple threads pointing out that instructions for "undetectable" hacks mention to claim a false positive if you did get banned. False positives are quite rare and usually result from beta or foreign language drivers and programs that haven't been whitelisted yet. Or at least they made up the cause of them years ago according to public apologies from EAC.
