When I start up Garry's Mod from steam, the start menu looks like this.

I can't click on multiplayer or single player or anything. I'm playing this in windowed mode as well at 1600x900 and it normally works fine. It only started acting up about an hour or so.
Check with the games files. Do you remember replacing any garrys mod files?
This may be a huge gamemode icon. Does this happen when you have sandbox as the selected gamemode for singleplayer?
