Hello world of Facepunchers, a little side note, I haven't been on these forums for quite some time. I'm estimating 5-6 years. This is my first post in ages, hope you enjoy :) Bear with me here, I'm not savy on all of the coding to make this post look flashy. I'll have to re-learn that skill, but for now you get what you get, because it can wait. BLACK ICE[SUB]N[/SUB][SUB]euromancer Fantasy http://superdupergc.com/ ( Same content of their homepage, but if you like you can read it down here \/ ) The game is in production as we speak, and they are trying to get greenlighted into steam. Black Ice is a Hack and Shoot – a Cyberpunk First-Person Shooter / Hack & Slash RPG about hacking. Think Borderlands meets Tron. The cyber-world is procedurally generated, the colors are neon, the loot is randomized, and the lasers are loud. Black Ice is currently in Beta, with updates most Fridays. (woo!!!!) Download links for each respective os; To play in browser you will need to install something called Unity Player, which if you just hit the "play now" it will ask to download automatically, atleast for me, I'm running chrome. I view it as a piece of art, that intrinsically is attached to my psyche. How so? I had a dream, very vivid and lucid, 2 years ago about 4 players playing in a virtual tron cube with tron looking buildings. What is especially weird is that the colors match up, the dream colors are just like the real life neon colors in game. I could not see 4 physical breathing beings in my dream, but I could sense them and I knew there was specificaly four, I attenuate this to the game being an FPS and not a third person game. So? what is the meaning of all this? For me it creates out of itself a kind of toy, and I play with it in my head and just laugh at how funny it all came out. I had a glimpse of this before I even knew the game, or to my exuberance, even read the book Neuromancer, by William Gibson. For the people that are familiar with the universe that Gibson has created in his famous novel Neuromancer, you are in for a huge surprise! :) I will give one quirk that I noticed, which made me chuckle at how clever this game can be. When you enter the first screen of the game and start to play, you have to create a name for your character, and the default name it gives you is............wait for it......... HIRO Naturally I filled in the name to the full Hiro Protagonist :) and then changed my name into Cosa Nostra Punk For people familiar with Neal Stephenson, and his novel Snow Crash you guys will get a chuckle out of this and many more things! Same for the people familiar with Neuromancers universe. You will get a lot of smiles, and notice funny quirks which I won't spoil. GAMEPLAY Everything that I had hoped this game would be, within the first few minutes of being familiar with it, came true. It is a great hack and shoot cyberpunk romp through a tron lined and tinged world taking cues from the legendery Dixie Flatline's ROM :) Filled with items of all kinds, loot of all types and a levelling system very simple to grasp. It is a very userfriendly game. You start by learning how to hack a server. So you pick a server and you start hacking it, while your gear is hacking you have to fend off techno-spiders and floating eyes. Once you have finished hacking you still need finish off the defense. AND HEY! don't forget that your icebreaker has a range, and if you go out of that range the hack will be off. This comes into play once you start to tackle 3 or 4 servers at a time, watching your boundaries is crucial for a good haul. SO! Hack the servers, destroy the firewall eyes and creepy crawlies lvl up, collect loot, and repeat~! Enjoy, hopefully we can have a community set up in no time. If you are playing I will include you in this list; ForumName//InGameName Dima210|||Cosa Nostra Punk

Hey! I'm Super Duper Garrett Cooper, the developer of Black Ice! I just wanted to say thanks for posting about my game! It's really great to see that people get my references!! Hiro is *definitely* a Snow Crash reference, and there are several more ;) Unfortunately the game is *not* open source, but I'm very open with the development and if you want to see any particular section of the code, I'd be happy to show you. I sometimes stream while I'm coding on twitch . I have plans to allow for mods eventually :) Anyway, please feel free to ask me questions here or on twitter.
