Voxel MMO in progress (need voxel model editor) - Games

Legends of Remora: Voxel MMO in development, Hello LOR "Legends of Remora" is a new MMO project recently started by me and my friend "Hardcore". LOR is a voxel game (3d world made into an image with pixels ) but this game is different. While the world alone is 3d (no voxel generation) all other models are voxel e.g players, monsters, items, quest givers, etc. More news coming soon.... Game is in early dev. Thanks, we have gotten pretty far we have already made a setup for servers, they are not up yet though.

why do you need a modeller for a voxel engine?

alright we have found what we needed, we are not making the world in voxel only characters items and ,monsters , etc are voxel unfortunately no pics yet but we have a dev blog started you can follow it there. [url]http://legendsofremora.blogspot.com/[/url]

Uh. If you're talking voxel as in 'the style of minecraft' then the characters are not really voxel, as voxels rely on a three dimensional grid upon which values are imposed - and thus it'd be almost impossible to really make animation very well as everything would need to conform to the grid at all times. If you're looking for a standard modelling tool you'd be best off learning 3DSMax which is [url=students.autodesk.com]free for students[/url] in most countries.

Actually, i do know what i am doing, i do graphics and animation in blender and adobe after affects so um yah i know what i am doing for my part of the game, i was just asking if anyone knew any good programs to use for voxel, I did not ask for negative comments!

making 3d terrain and voxel models and whatnot is about as ass backwards as you can get... Also, since you already have experience in blender and after effects, why not just make EVERYTHING 3d and cut the voxels out of the equation?

Why don't you go post this in the programming section since it has to do with making games, I bet they would love this idea, and you can get a lot of help there too!

Wrong section,this section is for hosted servers or organizing a get-together in-game at a certain time.
