Hey so if you guys don't know MGS Peace Walker has been released. Although only the Japanese version exists right now there is alot of english in it. For example the menus are in english and most items are also in english to give you a general idea of what they are. The comic cinematics are also in english so that helps alot.
I've just purchased a japanese copy through my local game store. It's a small one but they ordered a copy for me and I have it now. Although I'm sure if you're tech savvy you can find other ways to obtain it. There is also a data install feature so if you have a friend that owns the game its possible to install the game into your psp stick (maybe some problems later but thats your problem not mine).

Anyway Metal Gear Solid peace walker has a co-op mode for most missions. Playing co-op is unnecessary to complete the game but it sure is a helluva lot more fun.
A small example. There are different types of cardboard boxes in the game and most of them can be shared with your team mate.

The box on the left is a 'box-tank' and it allows two players and I believe the second player can shoot through the turret with their current weapon (not sure untested but something happens with two players).
The box on the right is a love box. Basically its your normal cardboard box but can be shared by two people ^-^.
Co-op video:

There are also 3 tutorial videos floating around showing the love box but I can't seem to find it at the moment of this post.
Multiplayer Information
You're probably wondering how we're going to play LAN co-op through the internet right? Well I'll explain. You need to download this program called 'Xlink Kai' (made by the British,, notice the URL) http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/
NOTE!
There have been some people that have trouble running Xlink with Windows 7. To fix this problem simply right click the .exe (find it through the shortcut) and use runas Windows XP SP2 and runas administrator.
Anyway using that we will be able to play through the internet supposedly. I haven't worked out the kinks yet but thats why I'm posting this thread! I need someone to help me do this.
If you're interested add me on steam through the small button under my name on the left and be sure to include it in your personal message that you want to play peace walker (JP) with me!
Or alternately add me on skype 'Warnipplez' and be sure to include a message so I know you're not some shitty spammer.
Thanks for reading.
Oh wow. That teamxlink thing looks incredibly useful. Whilst I do not have this game (yet) that opens up a whole new world of psp multiplayer for me! Thanks!
Is there a definite date for a UK release yet?
I keep checking play.com and it's been put back until june.

I do believe the EU release date is June 17 while the US release date is June 8
This is entirely unreliable because I got it from Wikipedia but it gives you an idea of when it's coming out.

Yup monster hunter parody is in it.
What firmware does this require?

I'm currently on 5.00 but if its uncompatable it automatically has update files included in the UMD soz. I do believe it asked me if I wanted to update but I dont wanna update to a japanese firmware.
Would genesis and SNES emulators work regardless of firmware? I dont wanna downgrade (if that's even possible without the GTA/Lumines trick) just to use an emulator. I bought a memory card just so I could at least play peace walker.

I think they have to be 3.00++ to work and you need a custom firmware to run homebrew
