DarkerGaming is a rather big community that was founded by me in August 2012; the ownership of the community was then prioritized towards Shendow who is the Lead Developer of the community. There are 3 'managers' of the community: Shendow, the Lead Developer of the communities gamemodes and website. Zidane, the guy who manages the technical side of the community. Doubleedge., the founder of the community and original hoster of DarkerGaming. We are also the hosters of the Official Minigames server and the only Minigames server (as far as we know) that created their minigames from scratch.

Minigames

Minigames is the first of our gamemodes to be hosted; we were inspired by Jos which was a very fun gamemode when it was hosted by Jo back in the day. When Minigames went down it wasn't long after that I thought of hosting Minigames so I started to brainstorm ideas with Shendow who is the Lead Developer and the primary Owner in the community and we came up with the Minigames we currently have today. Our Minigames contains 5 different game types: Deathrun, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Smash and Survival as there were many maps we could use for these game types; we don't just depend on the map to give gameplay we also provide it on each map with specific objectives for the maps.
IP Address: 91.121.119.50:27015
Game type: Deathrun - Deathrun is a game type that upon voting for a deathrun_ or dr_ map on our minigames server assigns a number of deaths (more players = more deaths) to kill the rest of the players on the server by activating traps provided to them by the map; if the runners make it to the end they can pick an ending where they can fairly battle the deaths or choose to easily kill them; Deaths are equipped with Scythes as a last resort to kill runners that make it to the end of the map. For Runners it's simple, dodge a numerous amount of traps to reach the end; upon reaching the end kill the deaths and win the round.
Game type: Survival - Survival is a game type that is specific on the type of map; survival maps could be anything ranging from dodging boulders falling from the sky or jumping over lasers; it's very map based. The goal is simple, you must test your survival skills and try to be the last man standing as this game type is all for the survival of the fittest.
Game type: Deathmatch - Deathmatch is a game type that is the default game type in minigames; if the map is a free-for-all based map then the game type will be deathmatch by default; this game type basically makes the players fight each other until there is only one man standing; like Survival but this time the players are killing each other rather than surviving the map.
Game type: Team Deathmatch - Team Deathmatch is a game type that is very similar to deathmatch except it has team red and team blue; the rules are the same as deathmatch.
Game type: Smash - Smash is a game type that is very similar to Survival except this game type has less rounds as there is a longer duration for this game type; this game type runs off of mg_smash based maps where you have to dodge falling obstacles that are usually either shot into the sky and fall down or they just fall from the sky.

Zombie Survival v2.1

Zombie Survival is the hit gamemode in GMod that was created by JetBoom. Our Zombie Survival is an old school version of Zombie Survival as it runs off of the Zombie Survival v1.1 base and contains custom features that you would see in the current versions (2.2+) implemented by Shendow. For those of you who do not know what Zombie Survival is, it's a gamemode that consists of two teams; Zombies and Humans. The goal of the Humans is to survive the Zombie Apocalypse for as long as they can or until the end of the last wave; there are 6 waves in total to survive which increase in time unlocking harder zombies for the humans to defend against. The goal of the zombies is simple; kill every last human with any means necessary. There is also a redemption system where a zombie can eat 4 humans (eat 4 brains) to redeem as a human and help assist the humans and survive against the zombies. Zombies have unlimited lives and spawn during waves; intermissions prevent the spawning of zombies which lasts about a minute and gives humans time to reinforce their barricades if necessary before impending attacks begin. Once wave 6 is over, zombies lose and humans win; if all the humans die before wave 6 end then everyone loses; zombies never win.
Barricades - Like the latest version of Zombie Survival you can use a number of tools to create a barricade; the main barricading tool being the hammer. The hammer comes with six nails; these nails have a limited amount of health which can be repaired by being hit from the hammer; the nails also have a repair limit to make them obsolete when they have received a mass amount of damage. The nails can be used to keep props in a position that provides the humans with protection; they are frozen in place until either the nails are broken or removed. Another barricading tool is the 'Aegis' barricade kit which is a tool you can randomly achieve upon killing or earning 20 points; this tool provides a quick and simple protection, a board with a certain amount of health. These are usually used to strengthen a barricade later on in the game against the Poison based classes such as Chemical Zombies and Poison Zombies.
Arsenal Upgrades - Like the latest version of Zombie Survival there are arsenal upgrades; however we use a different reward system to the latest version; we depend on the user to kill zombies and reach a quota to receive a weapon upgrade. Different kill rewards give different weapons which are more powerful than the starting weapons, the more kills a player gets the better weapons the player will receive. These are here to help give the humans some power rather than just fight the zombies with their basic weaponry as the zombies unlock classes as waves progress.

Infected Wars

Infected Wars is a gamemode created by ClavusElite; the gamemode was then discontinued as it didn't get the love and attention it deserved. For those of you who don't know what Infected Wars is, it's a gamemode that consists of two teams; the Undead and the Armed Forces. The goal of the Armed Forces is to either Survive 20 minutes against the Undead or eliminate their total numbers; these Undead aren't just any Undead, these are Undead that have their own kind of weaponry. The Undead's goal is to eliminate all humans with their weaponry before their numbers are wiped out or before the timer runs out.

Darker Database

Like NoXiousNet, Sassilization, DarkLandServers and countless other large and known communities we have our own global database with its own features that are carried out across all of our services. These features include the economy, shop system, voting system, membership system, chat system and many other features.
Chatbox - The chatbox is like any other custom chatbox except with it's own markup language. Our chatbox supports text colour, different fonts, icons, materials, flash, rgb and emotes. Our emote system basically allows users to type specific sentences or phrases into the chatbox which when it matches an existing emote it emits the sound associated with that text from the player; if you're a member you'll have the option to make the pitch of the sounds emitted low or high.
Votemap - The votemap system is like any other votemap except this votemap is used across all of our servers and registers specific maps for specific gamemodes; for Infected Wars, Zombie Survival and Minigames.
Shop - The shop system is like other shops; most similar to NoXiousNets shop it uses props and effects for the items which users can create using the SWEP Construction Kit (Created by ClavusElite) and submit on our forums under accessory designs. The shop allows you to spend your coins which is our virtual currency which you can obtain via killing/winning in our gamemodes, earn from winning events we occasionally host or from the easiest form, donating. Basically you can purchase and wear items to customize your character in-game to make your character look smart or cool or whatever.
Memberships - The Memberships system is basically for those who want to donate to keep the community alive; it's like a reward for your donation and is a one-time thing that lasts forever. Memberships basically grant you economical benefits for the store, votemap system and chatbox system. Things you can expect to have as a member is discount in the shop, extra votemap power, icon besides your name in chat as well as your avatar, emotes pitch and other small features on the servers. It's basically a thank you for donating to keep our services we provide to you for free up and running for everyone as without your donations the services would not be there.
Other Small Notable Features - Here is a list of other small features:
* Cross Server Chat - Allows people to talk to other people from one server to another.
* Server Portal - Allows you to connect to other servers from our servers without having to search for them using the legacy browser.
* Profiles - These are for each and every player that joins our servers; it contains things like their playtime, awards and server statistics.
* Achievements - These are achievements that can be awarded for completing the corresponding objectives and stay on your profiles.
* Reserved Slots - Ruby Members have a reserved slot; if a non-member is in that slot they are kicked to make room for the ruby member.

-ClavusElite - For releasing Infected Wars 1.2 and for releasing SWEP Construction Kit which made most of our accessories in our shop.
-Staff - For monitoring the servers keeping rulebreakers from playing on them and preventing people from disturbing the peace.
-NECROSSIN - For help with optimization and a few implementation of features.
-UnknownAlias - For the side development that took place in the early stages of minigames when Shendow wasn't here.
-Everyone else - For whoever I've missed out that may have deserved recognition or credit.
I'd also like to personally thank the Community - For being their throughout the development and growth of the community and keeping us alive.
Coolbeans, I'll check it out later.
Good job on the downgraded ZS, used to love the old gamemode.
-JetBoom - For the idea of creating a very similar database and for the original release of ZS 1.1.
HAHAHHAHAHAHAH
Very similar chatbox to Noxious' too.
Great community, joined a few weeks back. I was in Stoned Potatoes which is a dying community unfortunatly but thankfully I have found this community to be very friendly and active. I mostly play ZS which is much better than the new versions in my opinion, great to be able to play the old ZS now :)
I hope more people go on IW though, its a great gamemode which is under-appreciated at the moment so you should go check it out
This entire community looks like a wanna-be NoxiousNet :v: Even the site design is almost identical.
I really like the server, but I think you should make the chatbox smaller. It can take up so much of the screen and moderators/admins having a small picture in their name just looks so obnoxious.
What is your resolution? The avatars next to the name is a member feature.
This is a copy of NoxiousNet......
The ENTIRE community is a copy of Nox,
The main coder cant even code LUA for shit.
I would not play there. Go play Nox.
DarkerGaming's minigames server is good.
Familiar chat window you got there.
Yeah sure we're a 'copy of NoX' or a 'Bizarro NoXiousNet' as we've previously been called but in all honesty I don't really care what we are; we are what we are and you either like that or you don't. We set up this community at the start as a small minigames server and just wanted to have fun with friends which then turned into a small-medium sized community. We never really anticipated that we'd be providing services to over 70,000 unique users. We took the design of NoXiousNet by coding it from scratch on our own which yeah is unoriginal but we did this because we really liked the GUI and the features NoX had.
Sure we're unoriginal but in the end it all comes down to personal preference; we haven't stolen any code and whether you like what we use/have or not is completely up to you; you all have your own opinions about the community/servers and that's absolutely fine.
Also Wigleg, I like how you went out of your way to dig this 2 month old thread up just so you could post pretty much what everyone else has already posted simply because you were banned by Shendow because of 'trolling'; if that's not pathetic and an instant warrant of attention then I don't know what is. You wonder why you were banned but to put it simply you were just so egotistical, annoying and you constantly craved attention with pathetic threads about your 'personal' life and expected us to feel sorry for you when we don't know whether or not you're telling the truth; you say you're like 30+ or something and that you're more mature than everyone else but I find that hard to believe when you have the mentality of a 12 year old.

I have to agree at this part. The only thing he did was troll and he was being an annoying douche all over the place. He made a terrible discussion with me last time and I personally dislike him now for being so arrogant.
Tis a friendly community, mature people which still have a sense of humour, 10/10 would bang
So you listed out all those emotes yet somehow got the same keyword to call them out? Interesting
So you listed out all those emotes yet somehow got the same keyword to call them out? Interesting
We already had our Emote system set up and coded from ElementNet which was also self-coded; Microosoft was the one who made that system and we pretty much only took the soundfile paths and keywords from it. You can easily go through sound files and find the paths using GCFScape; it's not hard. PlayerSay hook, some tables and some soundfile paths with some arguments and you're good to go with your basic emote system.
I've never been a big Zombie Survival fan but I always have a good time on their Minigames server. Nox copying issues aside, the gameplay is pretty fun.
On my first game on as, not on this server, I found the server wasn't that good. This put me off for a while, until I saw how awesome the game description is. Now I know enough to have a good game. Thanks, I'll have to try it out on this server!
I tried mini games... Best mini games server I found! I've played a lot of them, from good hosts, but I'd have to say this one is the best.
Excellent .description and game modes... I'm trying out the entire features of the server, as they're listed right here. Lol
Thanks!
(Joined the steam group and sent to friends.)
Why don't you get another system for your server? Instead of using NoX's.
