But the most recent advancement has occurred in japan, as they have successfully launched a satellite light years into space within mere hours. This and the recent terraforming experiment on mars has launched the world into a second space-race. It is now your job to lead your glorious nation into space to colonize planets and expand your forever growing empire. Many officials back away from the area and almost abndon it completely. The Kashmir rebels mysteriously annex themselves into the T.A.P. causing much suspicion among asian nations. However, similar to the Japanese experiments, it becomes impossible to gain information from sattelites sent lightyears away. However, automatic machines that warp to and from the sattelites has been used to retrieve data stores inside sattelites. -Once the conscription policy is passed, 50,000 troops are added to the countries current 750,000. While people aren't exactly pleased with this, they aren't angry enough to rebel either. -After sending military assets to defend land claims on the basis 'Ancestrial heritage,' the scientists from the Jewish Republic go silent and stop sending messages to the Isreali space program. Many begin to point fingers at the T.A.P. but little can be proved as the ashes of the former scientists have been blown away by the extreme winds of mars. -After slaves arrive on the new mars colony claimed by the TAP. to begin prospecting, they find an unusual compound that induces a euphoric state in the users that inhale, inject, or ingest it. After bringing the strange material back to earth a low-profile business proposition by the owner of a chain of clubs wishes to procure the substance for their own purposes. -After the generous trade agreement made by the client in Cuba, the president of the pact puts the money into funding the navy. The result is the growth an refinement of the Arab fleets in the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean. The president still has no idea how the damn Cuban can funnel so much money into drugs. -With the new claims of a colony on mars, the TAP. space program decides it would be in their best interests to launch a space to monitor progress and communications of the colony. -There is quite the growth on the mars colony, because the government income from the "rock" mining company, the head of the company increases wages substantially to entice people to move to mars and work in the mines. Miners begin to flock to the colony in hopes of making a better life for their family back home. -Despite reluctance from the Space program, the first test subjects for human travel through wormholes has proven to be successful. Despite doubts raised by the PSA's attempts to send biological entities through wormholes. They may also join the ETAF (extra-terrestrial armed forces), and are more encouraged to do so. This organization will be outfitted for future military operations should space exploration become advanced enough to require military installations and active military involvement to... 'keep the peace.' For now, they will mostly be working on civilian projects, such as creating the means to actually make space travel commonplace. Engineering, physics, and astronomy degrees will be fully paid for by the PSA for all who wish to get them if they are in the ETAF. If they fail their courses or do not prove useful, they will be forced to 3 years hard labor and permanently denied citizenship. Those who succeed will help create future spacecraft, whether it be simple craft to first get into the deep recesses of space, or designing possible future craft. The PSA is putting a huge majority of its resources into the ETAF, and hope they can pave the way for future space exploration and colonization. -The science teams of the ETAF and the PSA Space program decide that finding means to launch sattelites into space to monitor Extra-Terrestrial Affairs is in their best interests. New developments made by Japan result in a project to improve methods of space travel. The first attempt to send a sattelite into space lightyears away. However, information can't be gathered effeciently with this method as the information has to travel for years before it reaches earth again. However, in an attempt not to be out done by any nation, the PSA send a team to recover information stored in a specialized sattelite. But despite careful planning they are never heard from again. -While beam technology doesn't go into fully swing around this time, a new Active Denial System is created to keep control of prisoners in the mines using beam technlogy as normal firearms tend to malfunction and even explode in the heated underground of earth. -The new Conscription policy adds 50,000 soldiers to the current 750,000. Not many people care however as they are too brainwashed by the media to care. -Citizens of the PSA begin to flock to the ETAF to persue their degrees in Engineering, Physics, and Astronomy. This allows the ETAF science team to pick out and filter for students that excel in these subjects. One warlord managed to end this war by creating alliances and destroying opposition. He betrays his allies and created the African Brotherhood. -Extensive military training occurs in the Brotherhood's army. While the army's training was decent before, they are becoming an army of quality over quantity. Each soldier can now more effectively deal with the enemy. During this time however, a selective group of soldiers are drafted to test a new Jetpack like device. The experiment is a failure however as a third of the soldiers die and the other two-thirds are injured. More development would need to occur before these become usable. -An African officer begins drilling their soldiers in a peculiar fashion. Instead of the normal hand-to-hand combat a soldier is usually trained, he begins to train his soldiers on a martial art based more on firearms rather than body motions. This has become known as Gunkata and further increases the effectiveness of soldiers. -The leader of the African brotherhood sees an opprotunity to expand further than the earth. He proposes to the A.B. Space Program that they launch a colony on the moon. Within months the first several ships has unloaded it's first citizens onto the first African lunar colony. The demand for an Extra-Terrestrail Marine Corps is essentail to accomodate for the new aerospace fighter craft. Although brittle, these fighters are the first step to China's rise to military power. -While opeations on the space front have drastically improved china's militarial influence, several reforms on the ground have allowed the nation's military to flourish. China has adopted a head-on approach to their military strategy. The military has adopted a blitzing strategy that shocks the enemy and allows for a powerful punch to defensive lines. -The chinese government has endorsed the consumption of a nutritional health drink called Soylent. This really helps improve the health of the citizens and leaves a lot of food left over for other means. However this causes many food industries to leave the country and set up elsewhere. However this only causes Minor to Moderate damage to the economy as Soylent is so damn cheap. -Many factories begin to arise in the Dominion, especially with available land in the desserts in the east of china. if it weren't for the effeciency of modern energy, the industrialization would have destroyed the air quality. It's a good thing that some folks who like having a planet revolutionized energy some time ago otherwise environmental terrorists like the chinese government would be having too much fun. -While is has been publically known that the chinese government has a form of "Secret police," recent crack downs on criminal affairs have lead china to believe that the gestapo has grown substantially. -After much preparations in china, the first colonial fleet has left the capital to grow assets on mars. although many countries still do not approve of nations "owning" other planets, this is the second country that has attempted in claiming land on a solar body. -Due to the newly raised wages of military personnel, many begin to sign up for voluntary service. Adding 37,500 to the military reserves. -After a new conscription law is passed, outrage is beginning to surface among the chinese people. Because of the mysterious conscription with little information about how long the service is. Minor riots surface in protest to the new law, but it adds 75,000 soldiers to the army.

It's better to have a couple nations with presence in the world rather than many that will never be interacted with or used at any point.

Dubbed "Project Holocaust," scientists begin to construction of an Orbital strike platform with is strangely similar to Russia's in design. The project goes smoothly and results in a reliable super-weapon. -An government agency is set up in order to stop, prevent, and discover espionage attempts on the nation. Funding to the project broadly decreases the likliness of a successful espionage attempt on the country and will likely stop attempts int the near future. -A large amount of the strange compound is finding it's way into China and Latin america. Space ships can now use a shield which repulses metallic projectiles, this allows for safer spacecraft to traverse through the solar system with less worry for pirates or other crafts. -With new advances to the PSA's space capabilities a new project is created to create a new colony on the moon. With efforts made to cull in volunteers going very well, a series of ships are sent to the moon. The ships carry civilian volunteers and some military assets as well. While it is said that the new colony is meant mainly to preserve the PSA's interest in space, not much is known why so many military soldiers were sent as well. -An envoy is sent to the Turkish-Arabian Pact to negotiate a sort of alliance. While much is is proposed and considered the negotiation goes smoothly and results in a pseudo-friendship between the two nations. The project involved 7 volunteers which were connected together via a sort of "neurological" hub. However the project's experiment had to terminated shortly after it's success, as after only hours during the link had succeeded the scientists assigned to the project had begin to become unable to control themselves. Those who were still able to control themselves shut down the hub and euthanized the volunteers. However the scientists who were running the experiment were able to assess the problems and have been able to construct a less potent neurlogical link. -The government of the Soviet Union has decided to begin returning active duty soldiers to normal lives at home. The government sends home a group of 150,000 soldiers who are particularly usless in peace-time and removed them from active duty, the result is a decrease in military spending and and a slight increase in the work force. However to compensate for the loss of manpower the frequency and intensity of military drills has increased. While the loss is nulified, the skepticity of the government has grown as a result of having less manpower compared to other nations around russia. -Recently the government has adressed the reasons for the recent DNA collections occuring all over the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union has expressed interest in a national registry designed to keep track of thousands of differeent phenotypes found in human genes. The DNA is completely anonymous and has no ties to it's previous owner once registered. The DNA collected is to be used in one of the largest studies of human genetics to date. -Intending not to be out-done, the Soviet Space Program has launched a probe to Europa. However, something strange is discovered under it's icey surface. Several new life form has been found swimming in the cold oceans below. One particular creature seems very primal and has been witnessed by the probe to chase down other creatures. While the creature is only a little larger than the household cat, it acts hyper-aggresively to almost any organism. However, few species are tracked has the camera is mysteriously destroyed during it's underwater exploration. By using the soylent to maintain health during long flights in space, this has really improved conditiobns in space and even allows for some people to emigrate to colonies in space. -To compensate for losses from food company exodus, the government ups the production of general goods for exportation and sales. This has allowed the state to begin recovering, and even eliminates the previous debt. However it puts a large amount of strain on workers and many are expressing that it is the beginning of a national stress epidemic. -After previous finding of a compound on mars, the Dominion launches a series of missions further into the solar system to set up a chain of resupply points for passerby ships. An important station however is the resupply point inside the asteroid belt just past mars. During this expedition it is found that there are large deposits of iron in many of the asteroids inside the belt. The dominion immediately begins mining and sending home the minerals for further development.
