There's a mistake on the map. If you zoom into the Korean peninsula closely, you can see a pixel of pink that is Japan's colour.
Which is weird since I did not invade Korea or any other nation. Unless that's just a port under Japanese administration.

One pixel is still land to a nation. No nation would allow for a piece of land occupied by another nation on their own territory, no matter how small and insignificant it is.

I'd say it's fair to assume it's a port owned by Japan then, and a lot of countries have allowed for a piece of land to be occupied by another nation. IE all the embassies worldwide
