Aren't you guys tired of the fake players ? ( Bots who seem like players ) - Games

Half of the servers I join usually have like 20 bots in them. These dont seem like bots since they show their latency and not a big "BOT" sign. And behave a bit better then the bots valve made. But does anybody else have this problem ?

Haven't seen a single server with fake players. Maybe you need to tag out [i]bots[/i] in filets section.

Maybe you were just playing with silent players

I thought I was just being paranoid when I suspect that players with ping might be bots. But yeah I can relate to your "problem" but most of the times it's very apparent if the server is a bot farm.

There are many ways of detecting bots, even from watching the scoreboard. Also, doing status shows who is a bot and who is not, regardless of latency shown

Don't play on saigans/nightteam/wonka gaming/etc. Those are shit servers.

I think using two or three server bots to attract users when your server is completely empty and kicking them when real players start joining is a good idea. But I've seen servers filled with bots and it's ridiculous and useless for everyone once you find out before connecting that those 29 "users" have been playing the same exact time on the server..

FPUK does not use bots. Maybe aside from AIMbots - i'm looking at you Kassi

The bots stay there and will make the number of players be 1 less than the max amount. When someone real joins, a bot "leaves" the game.

I cant find a Degroot keep server without bots or sv_pure and the worse part is now the server admins no longer use the default bot names.

Yeah I run into bots all the time. I hate it when I do because then I need to disconnect and wait 3 more minutes to join another. I never go on Lotus clan, night team or any mainstream [sp]I am a hipster now?[/sp] servers because they most likely have bots.

You can tell if a player is a bot by being in the same room as them while disguised. A normal player doesn't immediately suspect you or maneuver the area while staring directly at you.

Its easy to tell if a server has bots because most of the time they have no avatars or use avatars of other users. So be prepared to see the picture of the sun blowing up 20 times on the scoreboard.

The best way to find out if a server actually has bots on is to type 'ping' in console. That will show you the number of true players.

I like joining servers that have one slot open and then there is noone when I get in

I played on a server and talked to the players since I thought they were real. Then I realized they were bots.... Forever Alone

I was on Half-Life during the 10th anniversary. I was talking to this guy for 2 hours trying to get him to add me. It turned out to be a bot. :smithicide:
