what do levels on items do and how do you get them higher - Games

Nothing, and you can't.

Levels on the items don't do anything, and the only way to get a higher-level item is for the system to randomize the level on an item when giving it to you. :ninja:'d

Level 6 Hustler's Hallmark, a hat leveled that low has got to be Special.

They still get random levels. Should be fixed to be honest.

Hat levels are so going to be a factor when trading comes out. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I have a level 69 kritzkrieg and a level 49 KGB. People say they would give me ALL of their hats for my 69 kritz, since these random leveled items are the rarest items in the game next to golden wrenches. AND IT HAS THE BEST FUCKING LEVEL EVER ARG

For future reference: if anything in a valve game doesn't make sense they are either trolling you or, in case it's a bug, will fix it valve-time-soon.
