I've been having this problem for awhile now and was wondering why my custom content and maps seem to delete itself after uninstalling TF2.
Because it deletes all the content in the tf folder.
Because you're uninstalling the game.
it's weird,because in cs:s or dod:s after you delete local content/uninstall,all custom stuff will remain,tf2 is most likely from another universe.
It's never done this before, it's always kept the custom items I've downloaded
If you really don't want to go through the trouble, cut paste your team fortress 2 folder in steamapps I believe?
Just keep a backup of everything handy.
Why do you uninstall TF2 in the first place if you're going to reinstall it right away? [hence your complaint of missing custom content]
Don't you know uninstalling TF2 won't reset anything?
Backup your Materials and Models folder.
