"OS Pool Memory Low"
everytime i play late at night this pops up in the corner of my screen and after a while it turns off teamfortress for me.
Help?
also i might have spelt it wrong
Only when you play at night?
Sounds like a problem with your page memory or ram.
I had a similar problem like this, but it fixed itself somehow.
try killing as much non-important background processes you can before starting tf2
or post specs
Just a guess but do you have anti-virus software that does full scans late at night?

This, or backups like mine does.
If it does that for me I just restart Steam and it'll work fine.
(with all unnecessary programs shut down)
well i have windowed mode and i always have internet in the background so i can do things while it loads.

also just like a few minutes before it turns off everything changes into japanse letters and boxes, and the models go black. No pun.
Turn off the browsers, epspecially firefox since it's a resource hog.
Allot important processes more memory in the pagedpoolsize registry entry, if you know what you're doing.
I just started getting this error today, It hasn't happened before, I also increased the size, and its still doing this. Wonder if the update broke some computers.
Well if you are having a pool issue, I would look for people swimming. You know it might be time for adult swim.
I've had this for aeons. The only way I can play is by not opening the main Steam window at all. I just open games with shortcuts and speak using the Game Overlay. This would likely fix your problem.
Sounds like you have like, NO RAM AT ALL.
Try turning off EVERYTHING when loading, and making sure your computer gets enough power. Since this sounds like a classic case of "GPU not getting enough power", you should probably turn off some power eating stuff around the house too.
I ended up having this problem before, it was because I used this really inefficient refrigerator, so I replaced it and the problem went away (As silly as it sounds.). Of course, my problem could be completely unrelated to yours, so you have three options.
A: Turn off stuff you don't need, play in happiness.
B: Buy more RAM. It really sounds similar to this problem.
C: Search up a guide on increasing Paged Pool Memory, as I recall you can set a specific amount for the HDD to use as a backup for RAM being completely used out. (AKA, do this below)
Increase your pagefile size.
In Win7 (and probably Vista): Open System Properties (in Control Panel) and click Advanced System Settings. In the window that appears, click Performance Settings. The pagefile settings are in the advanced tab of that window.
I'm starting my XP virtual machine now to get XP instructions.
also i haven't turned off the computer in weeks. that might be a problem.
Erm... Why? Restart it, that'll easily sort your problem. Programs are using memory and then not freeing it up. Restarting will free up loads of memory.
If you're PC is running all day long erry day then your memory gets clogged with useless crap. Restart PC. Apart from that, I don't know how to prevent it from happening.
Think it fixed it, Thanks to everyone of you!
Anyone know where I can download RAM? this guy needs some too.
