I was goofing around in a local 2fort server taking pictures of what some hat combos look like and stuff, and I added some bots figuring they'd just stand there and do nothing.
Then they ran out and started killing each other. At first I was like "Okay, they know how to navigate the map now" and then I heard "Alert! The enemy has taken our intelligence!"
I can almost forgive the Detonator nerf now that bots understand how to play CTF.

The last time I played with bots in a CTF map, all they did was spawn camp or do nothing at all.
How exactly good are they at it?
I mean, with sentry nest locations, sticky bomb traps etc.
Advanced shit pretty much.

I'm willing to bet they're better than 90% of servers that have 2fort on them because the bot Snipers don't get into dick waving contests with other Snipers, and the bots actually work together as well.
Are you sure you didn't just download that bot Nav pack that someone released? It doesn't work for me...
I just started the map and the bots are rushing out of the spawn.
Haven't downloaded that nav thing, either.
For you guys who can't get them working, try creating a nav for the map. I did, and it seemed to work.
As for what bots actually do, engineers don't leave spawn. Snipers are okay, but with like other maps, they don't always get to ideal sniping spots. Also, bots don't defend dropped intel.
I think Valve only got the basics of ctf coded.

Ok, I just played a match to the end with the bots.
The bots are evenly matched. It was 2 vs 2 for a while, so I went Engineer and built a Sentry.
They managed to take it out with the assistance of Medics.
The Snipers sometimes left spawn, but they ran with the offense with their SMGs drawn.
I built a dispenser in front of that little doorway and a Demoman rather than blowing it up, crouch jumped to walk over it. I was shocked when I saw this. Was he trying to be sneaky?
Also, enemies holding the flag don't seem to attack anyone. Maybe it would cause them to chase someone down while holding the flag. Sometimes they run out into mayhem with the flag, rather than try to sneak around with it.
I'm still glad they got the basics to go through though.
Its still got plenty of bugs, but it works.
Holy fuck, that resolution.
I was also surprised to see that bots also understand the concept of 'don't leave the point just to go stab someone'.
By the way OP your monitor is fucking gigantic

That's my windowed-mode resolution. I play at 1680x1050 on a free Acer monitor.
