As the title states, I'm getting some very annoying and very tough lag on the map Doublecross. I'm not sure when it started, just that every time I join a server with that map I lag to death.
I have a fairly good computer, but I doubt that's the problem. I get no issues on any other map, not even any night-time versions of maps.
Anyone else with this problem, or perhaps a fix for it? Thanks.
Specs
DxDiag copy-paste time! This thing was home-built about 10 years ago, but then taken to tiny pieces about 5 years ago and put new stuff in, then some more stuff about 3 years ago and keeps getting stuff replaced, so I've really lost track of what's coming and going.

Wasn't that fun, kiddies?
Well for one you have 1gb of RAM
That's not doing too much good for you

Also it's not displaying your graphics adapter so you did something wrong
1GB of RAM
:ohdear:
Yes, it's slightly dated.
By that I mean we never bothered to do anything about it for years.
Doublecross is ridiculously unoptimized. It takes up a lot of RAM.

Download more RAM
Also next time download Speccy it gives a clearer view of your specs.

I have 1 GB of ram with a geforce 6510SE and it plays doublecross just fine.
Sawmill, on the other hand...
Where do you view your specs? I want to get them because I have a 4000 somethin' ATI Graphics Card and my TF2 still only runs at about 20-30 fps.
TF2 is CPU whore so CPU matters more than GPU :eng101:

Sadly, doublecross is HORRIBLY unoptimized so it runs like shit on older computers.

So...
I have 4GB RAM, but my hardware is below-par for todays TF2, so I will have the worst time on that map correct?
Doublecross and all Sawmill maps (and maybe any other maps with weather) have the worst performance.
Sawmill because of the rain (and maybe the saws), and who knows about Doublecross.

Oh god 2 whole entities
It is still one of the maps with the worst performance. I can run most maps at between 70-100, where as that map can take me down to 30.
Agreed, sawmill is rather laggy for me unless I have that processing option on.

Not related, but every time I see your avatar, I think:
"You have crapped your pants. Game over."

Also, is this bad?

Hmm, the mixed responses are getting rather confusing. Let me just say I play with no issues on Sawmill, not even with high player count servers, but Doublecross is the one that seems to make my old-timer grind to a halt.

Hurray for Speccy, the Copy-Pasta Master!
you have 128mb of vram? how the fuck are you running tf2 smoothly
[editline]07:52PM[/editline]
if you are, you should post your avg. fps
No more help? I am disappointed.. Half the posts were just talking about my minuscule RAM.
No more help? I am disappointed.. Half the posts were just talking about my minuscule RAM.
So the logical reason is to upgrade your RAM?
That won't help at all. It is playing on the map which causes the lag, because the map is so unoptimized.
Well, I guess it's a plain and simple problem with the map itself. Oh well, I'm not going to burn my computer to the ground trying to run it.
Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to upgrade my RAM when I can.
