• Team Fortress 2 Not Showing Text

ok, I used to play team fortress two, stopped playing just before the mann conomy update, decided to start playing again today, so I re installed, booted it up, still works fine, go in to options to change resolution... ah, problem, the text doesnt exist, where "apply" "close" etc would be, gone, where "Audio" "Video" "Controls" tabs would be, they are there, but there is no text there. same with the server browser, there is no text for the server buttons, so no "refresh" "close" etc, the servers themselfs appear, but the text is so small it takes up only a few pixels of my monitor, the main buttons as you enter the game, like "Browse servers" "Items" etc, are left fine, I can see them, The text on the achievements works also, but not on the drop down menu. what do I do?
Restart TF2. Restart Steam. Verify integrity of game cache. Reinstall TF2. Reinstall Steam. One at a time until something sticks.
Sometimes it gets confused if you change the resolution. Just restart.
I didnt change anything, I couldnt change the res, since as soon as I entered options, there was no text, and the drop down menu for the resolutions was empty. Ive tried verifieng the game cache, no change, and tbh, If I have to install all 10 gigs again I dont know if Ill bother finishing the download :P
Erase your tf folder
To elaborate on what Wootman said, go to your steam directory, enter the steamapps folder, then enter the folder with your steam username on it. Delete the folder named 'team fortress 2'. If that doesn't work, what mutated said.
Also, if you can't change the resolution in your Options screen, go to ''Steam'' > ''Library'' > "Team Fortress 2" > "Properties'' > ''Set Launch Options'' > and type in (without the "s) "-w widthhere -h heighthere"
