I'm im the process of making my 3rd weapon for TF2. Coming along nicely too I might add. However the sound side of it is a bit of a problem.
The weapon Im making is a replica of the Bad Company 2 Repair tool. And my problem is, although the model is finished, skinned etc, the sounds are missing. I've hunted everywhere I can think of for decent sounds and even used frap to record the weapon in-game, but with all the background noise thats impossible.
I did find one file but heres my main problem and my question. How do I create a sound loop properly? If I just trim the sound file at both ends, of course it sounds obvious when I play it in repeat. I want the sound to be able to play forever until the player releases the mouse. So far I'm stuck.
Any pointers?
Use goldwave, it allows you to set loop points for sounds.
