New TF2 bug - Games - Facepunch Forum

Hello there! I just downloaded all the new update and finally went to play it for the first time. But when I entered a server, my game suddenly stopped and an hl2.exe error appeared. Now, what is wrong? Is there any fix? I defragmented my files, and verified the cache (is that right?) but the error still is there? I just want to play my new update... :frown:

Windows Vista, but I just discovered my brother played it when the new update got released, and it was working FINE.

64 bit? I get the same error a lot and I'm running 64 bit Vista. Usually I just restart the game and the problem is fixed. I could be wrong, I may be confused.

When you start the game, does the error appear immediately? Or does it appear after you get to the menu, when you join a server, etc... Is there anything you can do that can trigger the message?

That's not exactly a bug, it isn't from TF2 and it isn't new.

From 14/8.[/QUOTE] I heard it's a mani mod crash sorta bug, find and delete a file relating to "mani's admin plugin.dll" inside the addons folder in your tf folder. Don't worry, it'll get replaced when you join a new server, hopefully with a new version that doesn't crash :P If that's not it... I'm sorry, but I can't help you.

Mani-mod, source mod, and beetles mod all crapped themselves when the patch came out cause the admin plugins broke. You can get the latest snapshot of source mod and that should fix it rather than deleting it. [url]http://sourcemod.com/snapshots.php[/url]
