Topic title. Do you happen to use custom controls? I've had a control scheme I've used ever since HL1 (When my Dad set the control scheme for me :v:). Basically, M1 is Move, M2 is Fire, Enter WAS Secondary but M3 is secondary now, scrolling M3 = Weapon change, s is jump, x is crouch, Backspace is call for medic (My mouse has five buttons, two of which seem to be considered other keyboard buttons, one of them being backspace). What about you guys?
Nope, all default controls here.
Arrow keys for movement Backspace is suicide Mouse 3 is a bind for quick melee Don't ask why I use the arrow keys, its a wierd habit I can't get rid of.
Oh yeah, my [ and ] are suicide keys. I forget which cause I never use them, except when I accidentally press them and wonder why I died. one of them is Explode, one is Suicide.
I have a buddy who uses space to call for medic and shift to jump, but that's about it.
Mouse wheel up is Primary Mouse wheel down is Secondary F is melee Home is suicide And I have a ton of fun little miscellaneous scripts here and there.
K is for suicide and thats it
mouse4 for last weapon
Some keys rebinded to be closer to ASWD Also, "H" for "Give me sandwich!" in team chat. And do you now, this works.
Mouse 3 for voicechat I can't stand reaching across the keyboard to press K all the time
Mouse 3 for voicechat I can't stand reaching across the keyboard to press K all the time
Since when does voicechat default to k?
F for "SPY!", K for "kill"
Unbind all I use console to move and shoot.
Mouse 3 for reload. That's about it.
Ever since I started playing PC games 12 or so years ago I inherited my dads keys, with changes here and there for different games. Arrow keys > Movement RShift > Sprint Rctrl > Crouch Mouse 2 > Jump (I honestly never know how people can use spacebar to jump...I have used M2 my whole life) Pagedown > Reload End > Use Delete > Buy menu Home > Rebuy Mouse3 > Secondary Mouse5 > In-game push to talk Mouse6 > Vent push to talk KP_End > Flashlight For most games its around that but WASD for MMOs, if I need to bind more keys I start moving onto the keypad. Also people are normally like :O at my binds, yet I play way better at almost all games than anyone I know.
-Mouse4 and Mouse5 are variable extra functions depending on the class. --Demoman used to have +left and +right on them for the old Targe exploit. --Pyro has the 'panic button' on Mouse4. --Scout does a 'force jump' with Mouse4. --Soldier does a rocket jump with Mouse4. --Spy does an auto-sap on Mouse4 and destroys his sapper with Mouse5 (for annoying the shit out of Engineers :v:). -F5 takes JPEG screenshots instead of Targa screenshots (and I don't know why it isn't that way by default like every other Source game). -Space does a crouch jump, and pressing up arrow does a normal +jump so I can switch spectator modes. -Q is rebound to the quickswitch menu (since I never used +lastinv anyway). -Shift does a "slot10" so I can check my loadout. -O is kill, P is explode. -Mouse Wheel is unbound because I don't use it and I don't want to hit it on accident. -I've moved the M, comma, and period functions to left, down, and right arrows so I can feel for them without looking. -Numpad 0 opens my backpack. -End opens sm_admin. -Del is my HLSS play/stop, all function keys (that aren't F5), all num pad numbers (except zero), all of the above +Alt, and Home/Page Up play my HLSS clips/songs. And a general change: Ins opens my Steam overlay. Left click is W+M1 Right click is taunt :downs:
I remember I used to use arrow keys, but switched when I found out that with WASD, you can (gasp) move, sprint, and shoot! So basically everything's default, except I use k for kill (or explode, I change it every now and again) and +use is bound to some key or another, just in case I need to use it.
i use j to suicide, k to explode, m3 to last spy disguise and v to "use tf_weapon_fist"
Ever since I started playing PC games 12 or so years ago I inherited my dads keys, with changes here and there for different games.
My first PC game was HL1 I believe, my dad set my controls, I was 7. Ever since then I've used his controls, plus or minus a few changes (His secondary was enter, I've set secondary to clicking middle mouse without scrolling.) I love this config. I can do most basic features with just my mouse (Look, run, shoot, secondary attack, and switch weapons) with just my mouse. And another feature if I bind something else to my other mouse buttons. Maybe S will be my 'Thumb mouse'. Which happens to be Backspace.
mouse wheel click- last known disguise, that is about it
bind f "+use" alias +turbo "sm_cvar sv_cheats 1; sm_cvar host_timescale 7" alias -turbo "sm_cvar host_timescale 1" bind v +turbo alias +uber "sm_cvar host_Timescale 20" alias -uber "sm_cvar host_Timescale 1" bind n +uber alias +slow "sm_cvar host_timescale 0.1" alias -slow "sm_cvar host_timescale 1" bind b +slow Thats it
Oh yeah, my [ and ] are suicide keys. I forget which cause I never use them, except when I accidentally press them and wonder why I died. one of them is Explode, one is Suicide.
Same here buddy, kill is [ and explode is ] [editline]06:21AM[/editline] I use them alot.
All normal, except for voice chat at M5 and K for kill and L for explode
I tought L was the button used to drop the intel
T - "Spy!" [ - suicide ] - explode K - Build Sentry L - Build Dispenser 1,2,3,4 and 5 - class-specific weapons fast-switch(what works even when taunting) :v:
--Soldier does a rocket jump with Mouse4.
You need a script to rocket jump?
Default movement, a heck of a lot of voice commands binded
How does M1 to move work? I don't understand that.
How does M1 to move work? I don't understand that.
It works for pyros.
