I remember there being an auto-configuration for the game so that the graphics are better than what you can do alone in the settings. I tried searching, but no results.
So anyone know where I could find this configuration?
I would like this too.
My PC could easily handle some more.
I'm surprised there's no answered yet... Anyone know where one is?

Thank you for reading the whole post and being useful.
You obviously didn't search hard enough.
Quantum's Little Config.
Seriously? Man I had to download autoconfigs to make the game look like it was put on the N64 because my computer is so shitty.
Be glad you can run it at what valve is calling "high" in their options. =/

I had the same problem with my old laptop. I am very happy that I can run it like this, but I'm curious on how well it would run with the custom high settings.
But if you can afford it, getting a new laptop is very nice. If not, well, sorry, but you're stuck with Team Fortress 64.

I searched what I could. But now that I have a name, it makes it a lot easier. Thank you.
But that aside, people have posted links. Thanksyou very much, and I can't wait to see how good it looks, but more importantly, how well it runs.
Actually this is better then the previous one I posted.

I wish I could set my TF2 to ultra-high quality. I have it set to 'fairly good-lookin' with FPS limited to 30. I need a new CPU really badly and I can tell my graphics card is starting to die.
And then recently I plugged my 360 and my PC into the same monitor and did a direct comparison between the two. I was running lower-quality graphics than the 360 version. :frown:
I also discovered that the 360 version really doesn't look all that bad! Via direct comparison, I determined that it's running like this:
Resolution: 640x480/1280x720
Max FPS: 30
Models: High
Textures: High
Shader: High
Water: (couldn't tell and it doesn't matter since TF2 has no water reflections [uses cubemaps])
Shadows: High
Color Correction: On
Antialiasing: Off
Filtering: Anisotropic 16x
Vertical Sync: On
Motion Blur: On (with mat_motion_blur_strength set to somewhere around 30 [default on PC is 1])
HDR: Full
After discovering this, I really don't see much ground anymore for those "but the 360 version's graphics suck" arguments. :v: It's really pretty good and few people I know can even run their games as high as that. Time to go shell out some I-told-you-so's. :cop:

People who say "The 360's graphics suck" are elitists who can afford $1,000 computers. The 360 Graphics are great, but the PC can go beyond that. But that depends on what you have.

You might want to remove bind f +use, since +use is now disabled in-game by default and "inspect" is the new default F key function.
Also, quite a few of those commands are EXTREMELY system-intensive, so to anyone who wants to use this, be advised that you need to have very high specs. :eng101:
Took it out of there. I haven't been on in TF2 in a little while. Thanks for the heads up!

Several of the commands are useless, and get rid of the software AA stuff - it looks like ass.

I think these are the two threads you're looking for:

Now rate me tools.
Also, it's not "AutoConfig". That's a launch option that completely resets all of TF2's graphics. The word you're looking for is either "autoexec" or "Config/CFG".
Now rate me informative.

Wait, how does tools + blue dot = Clock make sense? Oh crap, that does make sense! : O

How is this an HD config?
The Game is already in High Definition.

"HD" is a general term used in this case to define overall visual quality. "High definition" can mean more than just its common misuse in retail stores.

360's TF2 textures are on medium.
360's TF2 textures are on medium.
Except they aren't. I did a direct comparison on the same monitor at the same resolution and flipped between them over and over while trying different texture settings on the PC version. It's on high. My PC version's quality matched up with the 360 version's exactly when I put it on the settings you see listed.
