A lot of people have been in this situation before. You just open the game and want to play the new map that was just patched in, when suddenly, you realise only SAIGNS.de/nightteam run these maps for now.
Then you get killed by every premium noob every two seconds when all you wanted to do really was to play a certain map. Of course, these servers can be avoided, but they get just so many donations they keep growing and growing, and in some locations (greenwich meridian, brazil), it's becoming impossible to find anything but premium servers.
I'm having trouble dealing with these premium features:
-private slots
-player horsemann
-spy detect
-multisentries
I know server admins do what they want and all, but this is just ruining the game for everyone who can only play on these servers and don't want to use premium. Other than blacklisting, how do you act towards premium servers and their unfair donator advantages?
Just blacklist those servers, and yes i know that those are the only ones running the new maps while the other servers hasn't been updated, thats why I usually wait one or two hours before playing after a new update
I used to frequent saigns servers because they were the only servers I frequently played on that wasn't SV_pure 1.
When I asked "why the fuck do you have these unfair benefits?" some idiot admin said "u hav 2 pay so its fair lol"
I no longer frequented them after that, and joined FPUK.

I used to frequent Nighteam when I was new to the game, mainly because it was the only server I could get to that ran my favorite map, Hightower.
After I quit the server, I realized that they ran a mod that increased the movement speed for every class. It took some time to adjust to the normal flow of the game.

I remember when I first got the game I only played Egypt and was "scared" to bother learning any other maps. Cause of how big Egypt felt compared to what I was used to. (Cawa Doody)
I blacklisted every single "Premium/Unfair bonuses for paying us!" server on the list. It's bad enough that they exist, but when i get put on em via the quickplay button, it's kind of the last straw.
But now i just go to whatever server i'm put in, unless i find a new regular place.
I have an idea. Don't play on them.
What is the easiest way to blacklist these cesspits now? Didn't most/ all the tools for generating blacklists stop working, or their developers stopped working on them or something?
Why do you need to blacklist? Just find a decent server and play on that.
This is why I play on official Valve servers.
It's usually worse that what you said OP. Usually in premium servers, people who pay get godmode or unlimited ammo. I saw one where anyone who paid and used a soldier got player seeking, rapid fire rockets with guaranteed crits.
90% of the maps that were rarely if ever played on non 24/7 premium botted up piece of shit servers are now available on VALVe servers where you can own noobs to your hearts delight.

I have blacklisted 76 servers, most of them are instant respawn, 32 man, rtd servers.

I would love not to. But I have a shitload of ping on valve official servers, and most servers hosted in the US. most of the servers hosted near the greenwich meridian are saigns, nightteam and lotusclan.
so basically I'm surrounded by shit servers.
The only premium servers I could ever play on are "pwndoras" back when they still had it, you could glow, turn black, and other cool COSMETIC stuff.
Other than that, fuck that shit.
Someone should get a community blacklist going. There use to be a great site that made server lists based on the options you selected. There were options such as block fake player servers, block sv_pure X, etc.

Can a person get into one of these servers by using the new "Quick Join" option? If so, that's bad. I mean, that's bad for the new players, they'll instantly get a bad vibe about TF2 and uninstall it in a jiffy.

I thought a server needs to be approved by Valve first if they want to be in the Quick-Play list, if that's not the case it should be.

I joined a Payload server and ended up in a Prophunt server

As long as they run stock maps, I think they can be joined via quick join.

What about Prophunt servers? Lots of those run custom Prophunt maps.
There's a set of cvars that remove it from the quick join feature. Prophunt modifies one of these cvars. Premium does not.

Harvest is also a prophunt map depending on the server.
I go on these servers every now and then to get some easy Strange weapon kills. There might be premium tossers, but they are all shit players. All of them.
