And I mean outside the menu. Right when I shoot things. Why Valve why.
windows media player and/or www.youtuberepeater.com exist for a reason y'know
windows media player and/or www.youtuberepeater.com exist for a reason y'know
I play with full-screen because for some reason, when I play on windowed mode, the game takes too much energy and I can't switch back into the game for some reason that should have been fixed. Also I want a play-list. I bet Valve would've planned a play-list.
Buy a g15 keyboard and have always opened the wmp window with the songs you like
Windows Movie Player. Bind skip/play/stop buttons to keys. Make a playlist. Play. :hurr:
"play ui/gamestartupX.mp3" in console. Where X is numbers 1-10.
windows Media Player is the best option.
Winamp has hotkeys you can bind and works decently, or use the in game steam web browser to watch a youtube video of the music track, also an okay option.
use the in game steam web browser to watch a youtube video of the music track
That's how I usually do it when I spontaneously want some background music other than gunfire actually.
Also I want a play-list. I bet Valve would've planned a play-list.
Add this to your autoexec.cfg:
alias "song1" "play ui/gamestartup1.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song2" alias "song2" "play ui/gamestartup2.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song3" alias "song3" "play ui/gamestartup3.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song4" alias "song4" "play ui/gamestartup4.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song5" alias "song5" "play ui/gamestartup5.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song6" alias "song6" "play ui/gamestartup6.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song7" alias "song7" "play ui/gamestartup7.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song8" alias "song8" "play ui/gamestartup8.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song9" alias "song9" "play ui/gamestartup9.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song10" alias "song10" "play ui/gamestartup10.mp3; bind MOUSE3 song1" bind MOUSE3 "song1"
Pressing the button will play the first song. Pressing it again after the first song has ended will play the next one. And so on and so forth. Change MOUSE3 to whatever key/button you want this bound to. Change each "gamestartupX.mp3" to whatever order you want them to play in. Go to tf/sound/ui and listen to each gamestartup song to see which is which. It doesn't currently copy More Gun (gamestartup10.mp3) to the folder, so to hear that one either YouTube it or use GCFScape.
I'd be interested in having some low-key background music to listen to, a bit like Timesplitters used to do. It would make hearing Spies (or anyone really) a lot harder, but it would also make those lonely times as an Engie a bit less boring.

The Dispenser will then play that song on repeat.
I have this mouse. There are 2 buttons on its left side, through which I can pause or move to next track on winamp playlist. Really useful, because I can change music with my thumb and shoot stuff at the same time
If you have a G15 keyboard, get LCDSirReal
set up windows media center. turn on team fortress 2. turn music audio to 0. ??? Profit!
You can actually turn your Dispenser into a "radio" by replacing the Dispenser's idle sound with a full-length song. The Dispenser will then play that song on repeat.
I tried that. Its not very fun when there are about three dispensers close by.
I don't listen to music in game since I wouldn't be able to hear uncloaking spies.
You can actually turn your Dispenser into a "radio" by replacing the Dispenser's idle sound with a full-length song. The Dispenser will then play that song on repeat.
Does the sound fade when you get far from the dispenser?

I shall read the whole topic next time before replying. :saddowns:
Does the sound fade when you get far from the dispenser?
Yes.
Although I don't do it in TF2, because of uncloaking Spies and other minute sounds that can mean the end of me, I use WinAmp. The default binds are CTRL + Alt + BIND, and they're all in the same area. Insert is play, home is pause, end is stop, page down goes to the next track and page up goes to the previous track. I use that all the time in other games. You can also bind a key to play a specific playlist, I think. Shugo's seems like the best approach, though.
I use xFire + any player. just open the player and let xFire open while playing. you can change the music via xFire Overlay.
I use xFire + any player. just open the player and let xFire open while playing. you can change the music via xFire Overlay.
I didn't know that. Maybe this is why XFire detects music players along with games.

Except home is last track, end is next track, insert is play/pause, and page up/down adjusts the volume.
Another method is to replace the ambient noises in the maps. For example, in the 2fort basement there're a bunch of sounds that play on loop. Replace one of them with music and it will play whenever you enter that zone.
I use xFire + any player. just open the player and let xFire open while playing. you can change the music via xFire Overlay.
I haven't used Xfire in over a year, it just got too damned annoying. The hour tracking isn't neat enough to warrant its occasional complications with Steam, and the extra CPU usage. Forgot to add to the last post, up arrow is volume up and down arrow is volume down. Billy reminded me of that, just too lazy to edit it into the last post.
Yes.
Awesome! To the replacemobile!
WinAmp has global hotkeys so you can pause/play/skip tracks in any application. It's what I use. Never in TF2 though, I like to be able to hear what's going on.
Ever heard of Winamp or media player?
You guys do realize that it's pointless explaining this to a noob since I won't do a Goddamn thing about it.
