Personally I prefer random cause it wastes less items and you get a chance for the all class hats.
Wtf I didn't notice an n is missing.
Depends how many hats you have for a unique class. I think once you have 6 classes with a hat you like, you should switch to specific class hats. That way there's much less chance of being disappointed.
I'm generally too lazy to wait for more items for a specific class hat, so I just craft randomly, at least it can be used to trade at a later date!
I go for class specific, with my luck I'll get demoman or sniper. (Sniper is amazing but he has terrible hats)
It depends if you want to take a chance, or go for something you dearly want.
Random craft hat.
I like the adrenaline rush.

You get adrenaline rushes from hat crafts? You live a very boring life.
i craft random.
then if i dont like it, i just trade it.

He's a geek, he clearly has no life too.
He's just jealous that Populus gets an adrenaline rush and he doesn't.
Random hat craft, gives you the excitement wich hat you get :D
I went class specific until I had a hat for every class, now that I have that goal achieved I only do random.
When you don't have many hats, going class specific is the best way to ensure that you get something you want.
When you have a hat for every class, going random is no longer a big risk and saves you one refined.

Damn you.
I still don't have a hat for every class.
I have trades arranged to do so though. :v:
random hat craft.
i dont mind getting any hat, i love em all.
the only hat i REALLY want is the french mans beret for spy.
Random Craft.
Random hat craft is much better
My opinion!

You are not alone. :v:
I always random craft, even though my luck has disappointed me a lot.
First, hatless engi.
Then, hatless sniper.
THEN, hatless scout.
And then I got the Bloke's Bucket Hat, which I kinda like.
Random hat craft, But I'll never get my Merryweather! :arghfist:
Specific hat craft right now
I haven't ever gotten a pyro hat since the sniper/spy update, and I'm not prepared to waste another three refined metal and get something shitty. Aside from the brainslug, you can't go wrong with the pyro hats.
Once I've got a hat for each class (Pyro and demo are the only two left) I'll got back to random crafting.
Random Hat -> Trade if it's a failure.
I vote for : "Depend on the situation".
Random, I don't care about hats, they're funny, but I don't really want a specific class hats, I'm just crafting randomly and surprise.
Random.
Along with an excessive amount of praying.
Specfiic because I would rather have 1 spy hat, then 2 random hats for other classes, so it's worth the extra metal (I'm not very lucky so I'm not going to take the chance for a Spy hat)
Within the next month specific class crafts will be useless.
Trading will allow you to get any hat for any other hat, so just random craft.
I only did a specific craft once for pyro (can't really go wrong with any of his hats), but I just started always doing random crafts when I found out that trading will eventually exist.
If I get a good hat, party on.
If I get a bad hat, there's bound to be somebody else who wants it more than me... And is willing to give me a good hat for it.
I like specific, at least then you can be somewhat sure.
Like the hat I just crafted, that was specific.
I wanted a Hound Dog so I made a heavy token and dem 4 refined metals, crafted them together and whoop, there was a Hound Dog. :smug:
