Well I have noticed that valve has been delaying us ever since spy+sniper update, and I think that they might be afraid of making a new class update because of balance issues it might create due to the classes that are left being hard to add on to, so instead they have been giving us medals, some new hats, and just shiny little things to keep our attention.
Does anyone agree?
It's just a small diversion, but you're probably right. And it's for the better, too... After all, you shouldn't rush in head-first when it comes to creating items which could tip the scales of balance so far that one of the classes becomes overpowered up to a point of being unstoppable.

That's just stupid.
Honestly, that might be possible.
They know they fucked up with the sandman and then they had to go back and fix the dead ringer and the ambassador multiple times to get them working right. I get this feeling they are using that tf2 beta to make sure everything is perfectly balanced before they add more stuff.
I dont care if they are "affraid" they just need to take their time, cause soilder/demo are fun classes, and I would hate for them to fuck them up.
Valve doesn't want people to wait a long time for a major update with new hats and new maps.
New updates are out in about 2 months.
I am sure that they are starting the next update (i place my bet on solider)
Now, or they already started, but they made some fixes by the feedback from beta.
If they update demo or soldier, it would create balance issues for engie. If they updated engie, it would create balance issues for demo and soldier.
Delimma.

Time for a 3 way.
Class update that is.
Just released classless update so they can keep us happy and still think of balancing.
Give them time, They just finished the new update only a few days ago.

They are just buying time so the unlockables don't make the remaining classes too powerful
I talked to a valve guy a little while ago on this subject.
He said they aren't "afraid" or hesitant. They just want to balance the game out the best they can. They're learning from their mistakes when they screw up an update. It's all for the better.
Also, the way you look at this situation, OP, confuses me.
You act as if the whole valve company works on releasing the update. There's teams of people; meaning that not the whole TF2 team works on developing the updates.
there's artists, software developers, mappers, writers, and the list goes on..
I think they're just giving everyone time to get used to the new updates. if they just release a shitload of updates in a time span of about a month, people just get frustrated with the changes and rage quit.

They didn't fix the dead ringer, they ruined it. It used to be useful but now it's not because you only get a ~3 second cloak which is hardly useful for getting away from people, not to mention the ear deafening roar when you uncloak.

That was a bug that was fixed literally the next day.
It doesn't help that everyupdate players scream
"OMFG VLVAVE UR FUXING US OVR YOU NERFED THE SCOUT AND BUFFED THE HVY WTF!? THE NEW WPONS SUX WTF?!"
I find that everything is perfectly balanced as is. It mostly just relies on the skill of the player. Tf2 is becoming less of a "pick-up-and-play" game and more of a game for seasoned players.

All people ever do is complain, they want their fav class to be extremly powerfull. They run to run into 2 heavys and 2 medics and walk away with 4 kills as a scout.
Why would Valve be afraid? They know what they're doing. They created the intricate balance between the classes and they know how to keep it. The only reason anything has ever felt unbalanced is because people whine about it. And because of constant whining, Valve is pushed to change things because they value their community. Most if not everything Valve has ever added to the game WAS balanced when tested in their offices with people who know the game, but once out in the wild people find ways to be annoying or (God forbid) skillful with them and thus people whine.
My friend was explaining how he constantly gets 3:1 k/d with heavy, yet claims heavy is underpowered.
Well I can say that they made some of the classes overpowered. For example, the scout.
He has a Force-A-Nature, that can kill most of the classes with two shots.
Well I love the first, non-unlockable weapons. They are balanced and some of them are more useful than the unlockable ones. For example, the pyro's backburner isn't so good as the regular flamethrower. The flamethrower is really useful, because it has an air compression blast. It's extremely useful against soldiers, demomans and sniper's huntsman. What I can't say about the backburner.
Then again, the backburner has predictable crits wich at times can be really useful!
When victims see a backburner, they run backwards.
Running backwards slows them down, so either way you'll get lots of damage done.

Demoman vs. engie update? Although just because they did sniper vs. spy doesn't mean they'll do a 2 class update again.
Valve needs to stop giving a shit about the whining on the steam forums.
I mean, unless it's an absolute raging shitstorm 24/7 (and that's rare), valve shouldn't give into it.
It's stupid that people try to get weapons removed from tf2 at all. Once it's there, it's there, and there's nothing the community can do about it.
But take my above statement with a grain of salt.
It's understandable. Valve is releasing content at a rate of knots. They have released so much content over the last 24 months. It's not just a case of balancing and nerfing. It's inevitable that releasing so much so fast, things are going to be missed, dropped, applied messily. I think a lot of behind the scenes stuff happened this time such as optimisations (correct me if I'm wrong) and also a lot of toying with the server host software and how it commnicates with the client.
Hats are a way of keeping the retards quiet. Retards get hats, server owners and smart people see an improvement etc etc.
how about they just don't make anymore updates and leave the game perfect like it is
They're still working on new unlocks, they just want to be rebalancing things. For instance, valve have said they wanted to buff the heavy, but he's already had an update. He's currently the least played class by a large amount. This is why they have a playtesting beta going on, so they can rebalance shit before they bring out even more shit that turns the balance to shit in order to stop a total whiny shitstorm from all their shitty fans.
They just wanted to do a classless update and suddenly they're delaying things and refusing to make more unlockables and they suck let's boycott?
Wait, how long is the last class update ago? And how many classes were updated?
