• Team Fortress 2 is The Worst MMORPG I've Ever Played.

I bought TF2 from a friend of mine a week ago and since than I've come to the conclusion that this is the worst MMO I've ever played. I saw the "Meet the Medic" video and than the other classes and I knew right away what kind of genre it was, but the setting and characters were definitely interesting. I mentioned the videos to my friend and he offered to sell me his old copy for $5 so I jumped on the deal. So I installed it, loaded it up and I joined a world. It offered me a class so I choose the medic, assuming that I wouldn't easily be able to change my class later in the game and I always liked healing other people in WoW. I started playing and I was kind of confused as first, I didn't know how to start any quests and it took me awhile to figure out that I was already on a squad and that I had to take the enemies intel and bring it back to my spawn. I did that for awhile, but than I wanted to see more of what the game had to offer. It took me a long time to figure out most of the gameplay mechanics like 'hats' and new weapons which you didn't really get from looting or accomplishing quests but they were just kind of given to you randomly which took the challenge out of finding rare items. Customization doesn't go terribly far beyond hats and guns, which was kind of cool but without any clear objective on how to acquire more I kind of lost interest in getting new items. I still don't know what level I am, I've been searching around the menus and I know my guns have stats but I don't know where my skills are, I guess it's automatic level up but I notice that I'm considerably slower or weaker than other players of the same class so I think I'm missing something. The crafting system is my favorite part of any MMO so after I got some items and I looked up how to make things I tried to craft but all I got was scrap metal. I got a say, this is one of the least polished crafting systems I've ever seen. I gave up trying to make anything after a few attempts with no results, just wasted items I guess I could of traded. The world is incredibly small, and I don't think there is a way to get out it's like your stuck in the same map in that one server and I can't find any FAQ to explain the travel system. Although I did see trains once, I wasn't able to get on them. There is no real 'safe' area like a town or tavern just that back room and since everything is free and there are no penalties for dieing I don't even walk all the way back to do that much and there is no money or currency so I doubt it'd matter anyway. There was another quest where you had to escort a cart across a map and that was interesting since I had only done that intel one since I got the game but it got kind of irritating after awhile because everytime I got to the cart someone killed me. There wasn't a huge variety of enemies to fight anyway, there are the few classes and I found out you can change your class after you die which didn't make sense to me, this is the first time I've ever seen that in an MMO and it kind of defeats the point of picking a class and buckling down with it in the long run, I just pick whatever class I think is best but they all seem to be unbalanced. So, which hat has the best stats anyway for each class? Like the 'Heavy' has that football helment and I thought it'd be perfect for protecting against headshots but it doesn't do that at all which doesn't make any sense. I'd say the Milkman hat has the best stats.
What.
LoL
You clearly haven't played the campaign.
amen to that brother, game doesn't even have dwarfs
This is fucking hilarious.
amen to that brother, game doesn't even have dwarfs
It does have Bablo Bibbins.
That's just the multiplayer version, you need to get the campaign.
what a hilarious contribution to this thread
And I suppose your post must add alot to this thread too.
I thought the campaign was fairly challenging especially with friends. I don't see why it's such a bad mmo
You sound like the best gamers
Although I need help with the RED's second to last mission [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] Not sure what to do after the train bit
I dunno man, it sure beats a lot of other mmos out there, the graphics are good, gameplay isn't balanced but it's still better than WoW and other stuff like that for sure, the campaign was a bit short though but on the co-op side it was pretty fun and challenging. I know that feel bro. Like that one time I thought I was playing spiderman and all the people on my team were telling me I couldn't shot web.
Not sure what to do after the train bit
At the station, ask the nearest citizen where you are. They will tell you you've stumbled into a city, and that you should catch the next train to Dustbowl. >You thought Tf2 Was an MMO

Unfortunately, you are not eligible to get the campaign.
I can't tell if this is a serious thread or not...
How do you not know that. This is obviously a serious chat.
It's a mmo on the items and collecting side and an fps in combat.

you just wasted 5 dollars man. team fortress 2 has been free to play for awhile now!
