Forcejumping is a new technique that was apparently introduced by Valve when they changed the FaN mechanics. If you run forwards as a Scout with the FaN, aim at about a 45 degree angle up from the ground, crouch, and immidiately jump and fire, the momentum for the gun and the jump will add up and propel you almost as high as a soldier's rocket jump. You can then use your doublejump to take yourself in any direction. This lets you do new things, like:

Jump straight up onto the sniper deck on 2fort
Jump through the hole in 2fort
Get on previously unaccessible roofs in Gravelpit
Jump onto various lampposts, ledges, and things sticking out
Jump straight over/onto the cargo containers on Well
Jump onto the platform above the intel on Well (if you're good)
Jump onto the girders in Well
Jump into windows everywhere
Jump into areas that would be closed (BLU sniper deck on Goldrush stage 2 cap 2, before the gate opens, for instance)
Much more!
Here's a video demonstrating how it's done: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AszyNq0Jjb0[/hd] Here's a video demonstrating various places to jump. Mute it unless you like Japanese techno. lol awesome
You can just double jump then shoot below you with the FaN and get the same height. If you do it right, that is.
Sweet jesus how can anyone stand the second videos music, let alone ENJOY it. Cool vids though.
Where is dat Script?
You can just double jump then shoot below you with the FaN and get the same height. If you do it right, that is.
But with this, you get the same height - THEN you can use your doublejump to go ANYWHERE YOU CAN IMAGINE
Sweetness. I'm going to try this some time.
Where is dat Script?
dat Thread
Actually, it's not really new, people just never realize you could get better heights by looking forward some. Hell, the same thing has been in the Quake engine, then GoldSrc engine forever. :)

As near as I can tell, this adds the acceleration from the FaN to the acceleration from the jump, making you go faster into the air in the same time, and thus achieving greater heights.
Placebo effect.
I don't think computer programs get that. When I told it that I had all the hats, it didn't give me them.
I don't think computer programs get that. When I told it that I had all the hats, it didn't give me them.
You just gotta belieeeeve
Just tested it for myself. Takes a bit of practice, but I've got the timing and aiming down. Too bad I don't use the FAN.
FAN is the only scout unlock I use, other than my BRAND NEW LEVEL 80 HELM OF BONK.
Use the FAN Luke!

Hey I tried that's fucking cool. Thank you it's really useful. I rated you gaybow because of the first video's music.
Really fucking useful once you get the timing down. Rather than using sp12's complicated script, I changed it up to just be a single button, bind-able to anything you want (I also fixed it...it used to say "+crouch" for some reason instead of "+duck" like it should):
//Force-a-Nature Super Jump alias "+fanjump" "playgamesound TFPlayer.CritHit;+jump;+duck;wait 3;+attack" alias "-fanjump" "-jump;-duck;wait 3;-attack" bind MOUSE4 "+fanjump"
Just change "MOUSE4" to whatever button you want. No need to bind it to mouse2 with a bunch of toggles and shit. If you're new to this, just know that you have to put this into scout.cfg and then put "unbind MOUSE4" (or whatever button you bound to it) into all the other class scripts.
Great tutorial. 1x Useful.
So that's where that church guy song came from. Going to practice this.
VERY useful. I love you.
This is awesome. I wish I had the conscience to use the FAN.

I've never used scripts before though, where does one find them. EDIT - Nevermind :L Gonna test it out in 2fort now.
Where do i put this? all the files in my cfg are cfg's, i cant open them
Just open it with Notepad.
Sweet jesus how can anyone stand the second videos music, let alone ENJOY it. Cool vids though.
After reading this post I thought it can't be that bad and I decide to try and listen to the whole thing. I lasted 11 second
After reading this post I thought it can't be that bad and I decide to try and listen to the whole thing. I lasted 11 second
Honestly after DDR being a staple of all my friend's house parties/gaming nights it doesn't even faze me.
Don't use that, it doesn't as good, use this:
bind mouse3 fanon bind 1 "slot1; fanon" bind 2 "slot2" bind 3 "slot3; fanoff" alias "fanon" "bind mouse2 +fanjump;bind mouse3 fanoff;playgamesound TFPlayer.CritHit" alias "fanoff" "bind mouse2 +attack2;bind mouse3 fanon;playgamesound Bullets.DefaultNearmiss" alias +fanjump "+jump;+crouch;wait 3;+attack" alias -fanjump "-jump;-duck;wait 3;-attack"
Open the cfg's with a text editor. I don't get the beginning of that script, do I bind more then one key (which I changed the mouse3 thing, that's it)
Thread music: I'm gonna try this too even though FAN users are despised.
