Catcher's Mitt would have been better than the Sandman

If you don't know what that is, read this: http://www.tf2wiki.net/wiki/Catcher%27s_mitt
The Catcher's Mitt was to be the unlockable melee weapon for the Scout. The Catcher's Mitt allowed the Scout to catch enemy projectiles, store them, and throw them back at will, dealing the same damage as the caught object. It was eventually replaced by the The Sandman. Some of the same function as this weapon is seen in the Pyro's compression blast ability.
Wouldn't that just nerf Demomen, Soldiers, Pyros, Medics and Snipers to hell and back?
Now that would've been overpowered.
It would have, but it would also just be the compression blast but better.
Reminds me of the Game and Watch bucket in SSB
:v:
Anyway yeah that sounds a little overpowered but I guess the airblast is too then. As long as it only holds like one projectile at a time I suppose.
But seeing as how it's a class like the Scout yeah I can see that being a little over the top.
The Pyro needed the buff. The Scout can just dodge the projectiles.
No it wouldn't.
Catch a crit rocket -> Suicide bomb the entire enemy team

Pyro needed to buff so they gave them it then gave them the backburner and now everyone uses that because it's "LOL 100% CRITS FROM BEHIND!", not that they'll ever hit anyone in the back because all they do is run straight at people.
Or give the ability to pick up Health and ammo and give it to team mates.
Now THAT is better than the sandman or bonk. Or fan.
EDIT:
Oh wait:
"The Backpack was to be the secondary unlockable weapon for the Scout. The Backpack would have allowed scouts to pick up items such as health, ammo, and metal and drop them in the field for easier access to allies. This would have been similar to a feature all classes could access in Team Fortress Classic. The backpack was eventually replaced by Bonk! Atomic Punch. "

An overpowered gun VS a glove.
Yeah, that's right. Shoot them in the face and they will fly and then they will die.
A bat that stuns people VS a glove.
Yeah, it does damage. What are you going to do with that glove? Throw health at people?
An energy drink that makes you invincible VS a glove.
Use yourself as a meatshield for a similar effect as giving away health.
It's not a glove it was a backback >:C
Atleast the scout would be more of a support guy.
(I also don't like scattergun I like nailgun more give me them RED X and Boxes)
Or it would be good as a secondary ability, no need to remove a weapons because of that.
Hmmm...
Bonk'd Scout goes around giving ammo and Health ? :v:
I personally think his backpack should have been the pistol unlock instead of bonk. It was helpful to the team and would have been a lot better than useless bonk.
All in all, I think every Scout is a little... meh

Not medics
Not medics
Needlegun perhaps? I don't know, it was his idea.
Needlegun perhaps? I don't know, it was his idea.
Needles don't count as projectiles.
Needles don't count as projectiles.
Yes they do, there is even a kill icon for airblasted needles that is left unused.
Yes they do, there is even a kill icon for airblasted needles that is left unused.
But you can't airblast needles. They use a precalculated trajectory.

Damn, that would be useful.

Catch Jarate and throw it back
I wonder if you can airblast jarate.
You can, I did it before.

Bitches don't know about my hitscan.

Rockets.
Rockets.
Rockets act as physics objects with no gravity.

bonk is the most useful weapon against sentries sans the sapper
Bonk, you get any teammate that has a high damage output, and then the bonk'd scout runs at the sentry. It shoots at him and only him, leaving the demo to easily dispose of it.
Yeah, but guess what? Middle of a firefight, Scattergun runs out of ammo, you think their going too let you have that brief second of defenseless status too drink bonk? Hell no, not without chasing you down before you can get back to friendly ground.
well yeah
IMO they should've buffed BONK just a bit by making you move faster while using it so it gives you some sort of chance to get away. But bonk really isn't for escape
That would be good, but until that happens, I'll stick with the pistol.
Besides isn't it an Energy drink, not an Uber in a can?
