Whilst browsing the steam forums I found a post of interest
I recently emailed Mr. Walker, and addressed the issue that many felt it was a "Pay to win" for the set bonuses, and how it was not very fair. Here's the reply I got. I'll put in a pic once my image hosting site starts working again. Here is my email: Quote: Many people in the TF2 community feel that valve has created a "Pay to win" with set items including hats. You see, the valve store offers a guaranteed way to get the hat you want, while the chances of getting the hat for the set are astronomical, paractically the only way to get these full sets is by buying from the Valve store. And here is the response: Quote: Thanks for the feedback, Max. We recognize this is an issue, so we're going to add a new crafting blueprint that specifically crafts item set hats. Robin. Have faith, SPUF/SUF/whateverthehellyoucallit EDIT: Proof: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/littleboy8/eastereggs/hahahaha.png
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17164141&postcount=1 That is all. I am NOT late.
Good. Now everyone stop your whining.
Fuck yes :D
I knew they would change that.
A better fix would just be not to include the hats as part of the set...
Image is a 404 error to me and NeoDement is right I bet :10bux: that you will need 1 refined+another hat
Fixed the image url
The proof link doesn't work. But awesome. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/littleboy8/eastereggs/hahahaha.png
My guess on the blueprint will be something like: Refined + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat. Alternatively Hat + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat.
My guess on the blueprint will be something like: Refined + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat. Alternatively Hat + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat.
A refined? At least 4 refined knowing them.
I can already see people either complaining about these hats being the next Gibus or these hats being way too expensive to craft. And then of course they'll blame it on the store and say Valve forces them to buy metal or something. I support Neo's idea.
A refined? At least 4 refined knowing them.
I doubt it will be 4 refined, if they want to make it "fair".
I doubt it will be 4 refined, if they want to make it "fair".
They don't want to make hats "fair". If they did they wouldn't be so goddamn hard to get without idling.
They don't want to make hats "fair". If they did they wouldn't be so goddamn hard to get without idling.
I think you misunderstood my statement. I know they don't want to make hats fair, but they do want to make game-play affecting items fair, and this now includes the polycount hats.
Hat + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat.
I hope it's this.
My guess would be something like Class Token, 3 or 4 Refined Metal and polycount item of that class.
My guess on the blueprint will be something like: Refined + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat. Alternatively Hat + (class)Polycount weapon = Class specific polycount hat.
Oh my god please this.
my blueprint idea was that if you combine the entire set of WEAPONS into the crafting area, it gives you the hat.
A better fix would just be not to include the hats as part of the set...
A better idea would be to make not having the hat only give 80% of the effects, otherwise no one will want the hats, there are better ones out.
Anyone else read the title in Professor Farnsworth's voice?
yep
I bet it's craft 3 set items to make a set token, craft 3 refined + set token for set hat.
