Hey everyone, Adam here from Polycount. I did these a couple of years ago and I thought you might dig 'em.
A series of photos I had taken while playing.

Artistic
To be honest, and I mean no disrespect, but these are just screenshots of the game. I appreciate the artistic nature of TF2... but there's nothing that makes these images particularly amazing.

If that's what you were going for.

I sort of agree, its not really a different perspective, its just screenshots of the maps, players and other stuff.
I bet it's because of the black bars, they make everything look like their in a movie. :v:
In my honest opinion they're nice, but trying to hard to be artistic.

Secretly.

Those look pretty cool.
I like all of them except the sniper one
TF2 Media v9
They are meh and nothing is really special.
It's just random screenshots of random crap.

I think it also applies for pictures
But guys, they are completely normal, typical, screenshots from Team Fortress 2 made in widescreen format by someone from polycount.
So obviously it must be "art".
They're beautiful. They really bring up the work the TF2 team put in the backround and details of the game.
I realize this particular community isn't the best for showcasing pictures such as this, considering the amount of talent there is for deriving pictures from TF2. Especially the ones that go beyond simple image crops! Haha.. Nor did I ever want it to be called 'art'.
I just had a lot of fun, a few years ago, cropping areas of the game to show how nice it is. As a professional artist, those parts of those maps really had caught my eye. There are a lot of nice areas within the game that have seriously strong composition that I rocketjump, cloak or run by on a daily basis. It was nice to stop for once and admire the simpler, yet great, things about the game.
No disrespect received on this end what-so-ever :D
Alternatively, I'd love to see what others have cooked up from the game that looks great.
Lack of AA, but they look amazing.

Look up those dance animations, they'll blow your MIND.
I think I got it.
The pics are taken from a "different perspective". And you need to look at them from a "different perspective" as well.
If you just came here for some eyecandy, you think there's nothing special about these pics. That's what I thought.
Eventually I've taken a "different perspective" and now I see the ARTISTIC STUFF in it.
I would like to see these as a drawing. Some of them.
I feel these pics have something special about them. They remind me more of photographs than screenshots, they capture some of that unique Team Fortress-y atmosphere and detail. They're really good, in other words, unlike standard screenshots.
Except perhaps that one with the two heavies, medics, and the engineer, don't like that one for some reason.

That was my approach, photographs.
We had this one idea for Polycount a few years back of doing features where we'd take photographs from within videogames of key moments from those games. As if we were embedded photog's within the game itself. Neat idea, someone else is doing it: http://www.flickr.com/groups/gamephotography/
I like the shots of rooftops. I'm usually too focused on killing people to look up there.
I remember that when I first got TF2 all I did was admire the maps. I don't notice them anymore. Take more shots of the environment with no people and you will have my gratitude.
I really only like the heavy one
