No. Its the beta folder. It wont do much. Not that i know of. Anyways that title made me think that the official beta was released. I think you should fix that.

The beta uses a lot of old and outdated systems for several things. If you try to run the beta's content with the current version's GCFs mounted, then most likely it'll just crash on startup.

Your only option is to modify the beta to run independently without Steam, and that is technically a DRM circumvention method and thus I really can't say anything about it here since it would be against the rules. If you want to discuss how to use the beta, then seek another forum.
