sadly i was in the FPEFL team 2 or 3 steam group i don't remember but i didn't get any response whats so ever. and the thread simply faded in the depts of hell.
Well, finally. Shame I won't get one because I was too nice for the other team and we were constantly changing the date. In the end I had to go somewhere for a week and they silently changed the date so my teammates wouldn't know and they won by default.
This is why, chaps, being nice on "competitive" TF2 does not exist. :v:

I foresee people using them as trading fodder despite them being subject to limited distribution to participants. It's like the Self-Made Sam & Max items when they got converted to Vintage when Poker Night was released, just not as severe and given to more people so it won't be as valuable.

It explicitly states that they are for people who actually participated in the tournament, it'd be a bit redundant to make them attainable through regular means unless they were modified.
Much like the Wiki Cap, it was originally planned as a regular team-colored Peaked Cap where the Wiki Cap would be a black one, then paints got mixed into that update so that idea was out and the Wiki Caps are now in Community quality just because.
If it's going to be limited distribution AND regular distribution, the limited one would logically have something to differentiate itself from the regular ones or the people who obtained the limited ones would feel a tad betrayed since they earned them (as little an accomplishment it may be, it was still earned).
By differentiated, I mean the description, nothing more or there'll be some confusion running about.

Well they could make a craft recipe for example 4 refined + a special medal token crafts into a random medal.

There's literally no one who can be at fault for this except for the TF team, it's absurd to pin it on anyone else. If anything, it was a tad of negligence when adding it to the item schema, we'll hopefully see it rectified this evening.
last year Valve said we'd get a second misc slot (at the time just called a badge slot) when they added these medals
I'm going to assume Valve forgot they said that. Maybe we'll get a good update tonight though!
