First a brief history: When the Sandman came onto the scene, everyone first wet their pants with excitement. Stunning? Able to stun an uber? It is a ball? Soon excitement turned into hate as people realized, "Dude, this shit is OP". For a long time the tf2 community was divided, the only argument in favor of the sandman was, "Well.. it -IS- hard to aim.". Steam groups were made to get rid of the sandman from the game, players even taking it upon themselves to delete it from their inventory as if on some gay-ass holy crusade. Valve saw this, and implemented a change to it in the class-less update. Now: The sandman, once restricting a double jump, now instead forces a scout player to lose 30 health. The scout, who shared his health with the engineer, sniper, and spy at 125, would be forced to walk around with 95, not even a good looking number. It is important to note that all other classes get their health divided by 25, not the scout with the sandman. While being given back a double jump was nice, as now scouts didn't have to rely on the FAN (which the update made suck cock cause you need to aim EXACTLY down to get the boost, rather than at a slight angle as before, but that's a rant for another day) and could now use the scatter gun and inflict great damage on the a-holes he stunned. However, this -30 was a fucking slap in the face. Lemme go to a quick rundown: The critical hit of the flare gun does 90 damage, a regular flashgun hit, if not being doused with water, can deal around 90-94 damage. The scatter gun deals 100 or so damage at close range. A rocket does 100 damage at close to medium range. Imagine my surprise when after getting hit by a flare gun, I was left with 1 health. Or, fighting a scout and dieing from 1 single non-crit shot. Game over. You are on death valley. Don't even dream of taking a hit and surviving, you won't make it. Any critical hit from a melee will kill you in one hit. Most regular attacks will kill you in 2-3, and crits nearly always 1-2. The sandman sucks cock now.
I love this so much. Maybe you can do a post about the FaN so scouts can stop using that too?
Dude, the point is to be a good scout. You're meant to avoid combat, that's why your health is low to begin with. Flares and rockets? Dodge them! You now have a double jump. USE IT.
Too true, well writing.
SUMMARY: Butthurt player makes a rant thread
If the sandman is overpowered, people complain. If it's nerfed, people complain. Once it's all balanced guess what people will do. COMPLAIN
durp EDIT: I agree it should have been 100 health or something.

Too true bro
I thought the change was kind of harsh in the beginning too, but I played for a few hours last night and I topped the charts every time, using the Sandman AND the FAN. Stop your QQ'ing. The change is harsh but only if you run in straight lines to enemies like an idiot.
SUMMARY: Poster is butthurt because he knows the op is right
The OP is not right. Learn to dodge, you're a fucking Scout.
Sandman is useless now less damage, less health, can't stun uber, etc. The regular bat is better
bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I don't have an awesome overpowered weapon anymore. bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
omg guys fan is op better make a thread on fp

Maybe you'll still die. Hell, maybe you won't take a single point of damage. But that's mostly luck.

Maybe Scouts should stop bum-rushing Soldiers, any other distance and rockets are not a problem.
The OP is not right. Learn to dodge, you're a fucking Scout.
I can't dodge FUCKING EVERYTHING, and neither can you, hence: you die as a scout. And it sure isn't fucking helpful to die 1/4 faster, having 3/4 of the life you usually have. And most the shit that hits you and you proceed to 'lol dodge after' leaves you with what? 10 health? Pressing e as fast as you can? I don't get the luxury.

Yes, if you do it right, you'll dodge the rockets he fires at his own feet to get rid of you, but there's a lot of people that can't really do that.

That's the tradeoff! You lose survivability for stunning other players. Being the fastest class has the advantage of getting out of the fight quickly to pick up a few medpacks. I mean, there are plenty of other ways to either kill him yourself or get assists by weakening him. It's like people who can't airblast complaining about Soldiers, it's simply because they can't do it right. I'm not saying it's completely balanced, nor am I saying that the Sandman is still all-powerful. I'm simply making a point that the OP is blowing it way out of proportion.
Now I can be a fgt with FaN and Sandman without worrying about double jump.

A lot of people would probably prefer to not run out where he's a bigger target and stun people/support his team instead. It's an alternative way to play.
I never really used the bat because double jumping is super important if you actually have skill
All I know is that it's fun to one shot noob scouts.
also lol wtf, every post in FP is getting a dumb rating the exact second it's posted. SOMEONE FUCKED WITH THE RATING LINKS

I am not afraid of soldiers, demos or pyros with the sandman equipped. The only thing I am afraid of is scouts who don't have it equipped.
Wow that's a lot of dumbs
I would have to agree with the OP.
What's a flashgun?
